As a Professional Hunter and guide and a guy who has met you a couple times I will say the debate lately I’ve heard or been asked by hunting friends “ Who is better John E or the hunting beast, Dan. I answer it this way, John is a good hunter but he throws opinions around almost to purposefully piss people off. Like the comment about the crossbows. John if you read this, please worry about yourself buddy. Crossbows have made deer injury go down by probably 80 percent! Guys aim and normally kill what they shoot. They are shooting an arrow and it has limbs on the bow. Ps as a 2 time Iraq war veteran I will say millions have died for you to make those comments that only hurt peoples feelings or upset them. Their is zero reason to say stuff like that. It just turns so many off! As far as comparison Dan Infalt is just as good if not better. He’s polite, kind, never ever starts stupid arguments and has killed some mega bucks. I walked through Jays recently and when John says he has 6000 book bucks half of them are Michigan bucks that it only takes 100 or 110 inches to make book. They aren’t pope and young or Boone and cricket. Some may be but he uses the term book buck way to much.
@johneberhart40623 жыл бұрын
A crossbow shoulders like a gun and is accurate like a gun with zero practice. I have issue with that in a season designed for bows. Michigan was the main target for the crossbow industry to tackle with full inclusion in bow season because they knew that Michigan had the most bowhunters and that if they could get Michigan to topple with full inclusion, most of the other states would follow suit which is exactly what happened and I fought it then with Michigan's NRC and I haven't changed my mind. They would say that there are a lot of avid crossbow shooters but to this day I've never seen a crossbow league in Michigan. They would say there is no difference and that is so wrong. If there were avid crossbow shooters, they were able to hunt with them during gun season, but no, they would hunt with a longer range gun during gun season. It's all about making it easy for many and I'm just not in that camp. I have always thought that nobody should be kept out of the woods due to health reason or an injury and have always been for crossbow hunting with a doctors letter of handicap. Hey, that's just me, they are legal now and that will never change. Ernie just took a 145 inch buck at 53 yard facing him with a high end crossbow and he said there is no way he would have even considered taking that shot with a conventional bow that you have to practice with and with less power. He said it was no different than shooting with a gun.
@rg82493 жыл бұрын
@@johneberhart4062 The same can be said about compounds. My dad started bow hunting in the late 40s. I learned on recurves and I grew up in bow camps with dad and his friends. All of them using recurves, saying a compound wasn't a bow. You know as well as I do that bowhunting became immensely popular due to compounds. They are heads and tails easier to learn and shoot over a recurve. My brother never shot a bow in his life, picked up a compound and was shooting it well in a day. You can't do that with a recurve. Nor any of the other significant advantages a compound has. A friend of my brother practices with his compound at 100 yards and actually shot a deer at 80. My personal opinion is the technology took away the intent of archery season long ago....with both compound and crossbow.
