Brilliant! I read Suprises's book a few years ago when I first was experimenting with psilocybin, because I noticed that every time I would approach a forthcoming departure into hyperspace synchronicities would just happen left and right. Reality is a system of mirrors. I love what he said about normalizing it and having fun with it. I think that was very wise. Many people associate synchronistic events with becoming psychotic or mentally ill which I think is a real tragedy of misunderstanding. It amazes me that most people I meet seem to have no real awareness of the "voice" of the mind, the chattering narrator, the self-reflecting thought process. That's scary because absent of self-reflection we cannot imagine what it must be like to be someone else. "Treat others how you would like to be treated" is meaningless without self-reflection.

Have you ever experienced synchronization? I went through about a three year period of having constant events and it's not much fun. Plus there are people who are simply delusional and mentally ill. ...the same goes for the comment about the voices. Ever been around someone who hears voices? The voices never say anything nice to them. They aren't experiencing some type of spiritual event, they are mentally ill and it's pretty awful watching them struggle with it.

I lived in Chicago for many years. I took the El train everywhere. One day I was on the platform waiting on the train. It was cold as hell. Freezing. On the platforms they had these heating stations. You pushed a button, and the heat turned on, they stayed on for a couple minutes. . I was looking at this mini flock of pigeons hanging out underneath one of the other stations. Enjoying the heat. The heat went off, and one of the pigeons flew up, and pecked the button to turn it back on.

In the last couple of years a significant number of us have been cracked open and the things being experienced by some are not within the parameters of these psychological methods to get a grip. But, I would say it's important that everyone work through these exercises. I found that they simply don't resolve what I've experienced. I studied Jung and stuff like bias confirmation years ago. And this isn't about meditation or zen... nor environment nor religious affiliation... This is happening to people without their attempts to seek out any type of awakening.

Great talk, this guy gets it. Synchronicity: 'An Acausal Connecting Principle' - i.e. apparently random to other people, but deeply meaningful to YOU. Once you 'Touch the Mind' (sesshin) then synchronicities appear all over, like cosmic giggles, it is the universe waking up. It seems to me it is what the old Eastern sages were referring to when they described reality as a mirror to mind, i.e. synchronicities are reflections in our apparently individual mirror to the Universal-Mind-reality. Synchronicity is a key anomaly that scientism is immune from investigating or taking seriously since it violates the main dogma of scientism: it is not independent of observer, it is not quantifiable, and it is not repeatable. It points the way out of the meaningless paradigm of scientism, but also may lead to the 'spiritual emergency' danger of the pathologically-meaningful paradigm of schizophrenia haha. Suzuki roshi: 'our way is to just ride on the train, if we look too closely at the rails, we get dizzy'.

Be careful! This is his opinion based on his studies, this doesn't means that this is the absolute truth... Belief shapes reality in humans, of course, I totally agree, but that doesn't mean that there is something else that you cannot understand yet... If we only get reflected back what we think and concentrate then why ppl see synchroncites when they want to run away from something and keep seeing things that wont let them run away from it or why do these synchroncites do not appear in one time in your life say in your 30s but appear in your 40s while all time you feel the same way about a certain thing. I believe his answers are true to a certain extent but are not the complete answers. There is certainly more to synchroncites than this

Great clip, thanks a lot for uploading. It's rare and very admirable to me, the way dr. Surprise refrains from explaining the "meaning" behind phenomena like synchronicity. I couldn't agree more with his notion that it is very probably a "spiritual disservice" to people to tell them what is going on in their lives. To put it in grandiose terms, this man seems to be what is sometimes called a "true seeker".

"I think it's important to be be kind to each other."--Wisdom of the Ages. This was truly fascinating, and reminds me of some of the writings of Robert Anton Wilson, like "Prometheus Rising," in which he observes that "what the thinker thinks, the prover will prove." Reality is like a matrix between consciousness , energy, matter, and perception.

I've had a lot of these experiences that led me to very profound spiritual teachers and events. The part about the boy thinking a thought and someone answering it happened to me. I also had a strange synchronisity happen to me today that began out of me not expecting things. I can't understand how we can just simply say "it's the environment reflected back" without thinking that about absolutely everything that happens to us just that. Magic does happen, but it's very convoluted. It can not be understood my the rational mind. Ugh.

The issue with synchronicities are that today, our communities, and our system and way of life are designed to outcast the individuals who talk about experiences out of the norm. At one time, synchronicities were the beginning of the adepts quest or journey and there was someone to go see who would embrace them and help them along. This is the beginning of great conversation that involves astrology.

I can tell that you are clearly not sure what you believe yourself.i was the same as you until recently but some undeniably telepathic events have took place aswell now.i have read people's minds on a couple of occasions now myself where the odds would have been a million to one. with people who have witnessed this.it just happens very rarely.is not somthing that I can turn on and off neither is the syncing which happens to me between 10 to 20 times daily.only when least expected though. I can tell you their is definitely a real genuine unseen connection in all of this from my first hand day to day experiences.

@jonah3985

I can tell you that when I was meditating for one to three hours a day in prison, I was regularly playing a card game called 'Casino' at the time with a guy who was pretty good at it. The variant we were playing is called 'Royal Casino' and you have multiple objectives in the game, and should you pull off every objective you get a "casino" which means to fully sweep all objectives and instantly beat the other player 11-0. This is very hard to pull off. We had been playing daily and while we were mostly evenly matched, he had recently gone on a bit of a win streak. So as a test, I went outside and meditated, and and also charged my energy using pranic breathing techniques. I set the intention that I would walk inside and instantly sweep him. I focused entirely on that and continued to move the energy through me with my every step and breath. I walked into our room, the cards were dealt, and everything that could go right went right; I didn't even need to play strategically, everything fell into place for me. I pulled off the "casino", instantly sweeping him 11-0. Obviously extremely anecdotal, but I figured I'd let you know what may indeed be possible.

So I haven’t had many synchronicities that I noticed that had impact but I did one a situation with a set of synchronicities that really caught me off guard or surprised me. Ok so back story or context: ok so when I was a teenager my parents had work that required us to move to India for 5 years. I went to an international school that had students from all over the world. One of those years I became really good friends with a girl who was in many of my classes. We got along well and became super close friends. At that time of life though too I was struggling a lot with my mental health and also depression around living overseas. I ended up opening up yo her a lot about my mental health stuff and depression and she helped me in so many ways. At the time she was my main support and friend. At one point she saved my life I’m convinced. Eventually it ended up overwhelming her too much and that lead to a falling out. I have a-lot if guilt around how much stressed I caused. I never got proper closure when I finally moved back home. The whole situation broke my heart because I was secretly in love with her and I lost a friend. At the time as a female I discovered too that I was bisexual and she’s the first girl I had feelings for. Back in Canada the pain from the situation slowly faded but I always subconsciously remembered the lesson. I haven’t hurt myself since because I remember what it did to her, I know how much it can hurt people around you. This all happened around when I was like 14 or 15. I’m now 21. Ok so the spooky coincidences happened back in the winter last year . I was like at the train station and I see a woman who looked like her walk by me. She even glanced at me and we made eye contact. I had a fleeting thought about wondering how she was and where she ended up. I didn’t think it was her because there are people in the world who look similar. The thought passes and I forget about it. A couple weeks following, I’m on a dating app, and I see a profile , the woman who looks like her. I then see the name, it’s the name of my friend, and her bio and art pictures reveal it was actually her. At that point my mind was so blown. The the fact I saw her and the fact she was brought to my awareness again. I’m shocked. That’s not all. Then a Disney movie encanto comes out and the main character looks so much like her and acts like her, looks, glasses, dress, mannerisms, etc. People who I still talk to her know her agreed it was really similar so I know I’m not crazy. I literally don’t know how to comprehend the situation because it’s so random but also doesn’t feel random. Im using the law of attraction to try and manifest her back to talk. Over the past year I’ve been exploring spirituality abd stuff and improving as a person and my mental health is improving. However I’m trying to figure out what this means and was wondering if anyone has any guesses. I just really want her to know how important she was to me, and that I still remember her and use her as a reminder to stay strong. Is this a sign that she’s meant to be in my life and that I should manifest her back? I want to say sorry and things. Does it represent an acknowledgment of self and personal growth? What does it mean? It perplexes me.

Good to hear your mental health is improving! That is the most important thing. I would say if you decide to get in contact with her go into it with no expectations of starting a relationship. Just express your gratitude for her taking the time to be a friend in your time of need. And also how remorseful you are to have put your burdens on her in a way that she couldn't bare it. Don't beat yourself up about that, you were only 14. If you go into it like that than what do you have to lose? At the least you will have your closure. I feel if you go into it with other expectations it could lead to taking steps backwards. Good luck and namaskaram 🙏

Just the other day I'm taking a picture of a half rack of Mike's hard lemonade I'd just scored from someone forgetting it in their shopping cart and the guy on the radio starts talking about a lemonade contest in an obscure town in the local region that I've never heard of. That is I've never heard of the town or lemonade contest. Pretty sure I'm at least partialy (almost all aly ending words end with ally now Mandella Efect) responsible for the Mandella Efect. Prime example: "I'd love to change the world" by Ten Years After: the vocalist sings "I love to change the world" without the 'd and just like I've sang it for over 10 years now! I studied geography changes and the maps started changing 3 times a day including the names of the places so I stopped! It's at least slowed down for sure! Now I'm just grazing study wise but the words are changing everyday and people's names too. Just being aware is probably a link to it. On 4/20/2020 the Deathstar lazer turned green (you just mentioned Star Trek as I wrote Deathstar) I knew exactly what that Mandella Efect meant immediately specifically regarding the "Green New Deal"! Hmmmm? It's alot to think about!

You are creating it. You don't need to think that it is such a big deal if you find it overwhelming. My synchronicity is usually song lyrics or coincidences on the TV that coincide with something I was just discussing with someone. I know someone who's work projects that are sent to them through the computer reflect things they were observing or talking about less than an hour earlier. You are creating it. It's no big deal. ;)

The mandella effect i noticed was "baby copperheads". I saw in papers on internet they were bad this year and they have a green tipped tail maybe to lure food in. I have never ever nor any hunter or woodsman in my circle seen this green tip. Many had seen dozens over the years. But now they do .

This helps me better understand multiple realities happening at the same time. But he says is rather there multiple probabilities. Also we could get a clue to what our subconscious is working on by attending to our synchronicities.

Great interview: you let him speak without interruption, you asked very intelligent questions, and the material was just fascinating. I do have to disagree on one point. I do a spiritual practice that forced me to accept that reality is far different from what i believed and hoped it would be when I started it. Dr. Kirby might posit that I held these beliefs in my subconscious, but I don't think he could prove it. I scoffed at some of these concepts, and worked hard to find ways to explain them away and defeat them. So I have to assume he has not had spiritual experiences that rocked his world and couldn't be explained as coming from himself. * Please post a link to the booklist.

It's flawed reasoning behind black and white facts and thinking. The ancient times and civilizations knew of Synchronization. They built great monuments around this meaning. Like the Spinx with the divine percentage and ratio built-in.

Here's an example of a recent synchronicity I experienced. I was watching another YT video [title: '30 min of PURE GENIUS - Alan Watts on "The Gateless Gate"', time stamp 18:50, link in reply since sometimes links to other videos get deleted] in the kitchen while making a snack - oatmeal and flax. I was weighing out the flax at the precise moment the narrator of the video said "and one day he was weighing some flax". I'm trying to apply Dr Surprise's theory - and am having some difficulty. Can someone please explain how Dr Surprise's theory explains how this incident happened? I think I understand Rhine's experiments and also the more recent experiments by Radin et al. But all the probabilities that had to have been adjusted so I would hear that phrase at precisely the same time I was weighing out flax - it seems like a lot. Does anyone have any thoughts on what, if anything, this synchronicity might mean (one would need to watch the other video for context)? Also re: Rhine's 'chicken experiment' - does anyone know if the decline effect was observed in this experiment?

By giving away his political bias he proves his own point and that he is not immune to it. He believes people who think differently are delusional, when in fact everyone looks for things that reflect their own ideas, and both liberals and conservatives do this. Just because you are a liberal does not mean you are intellectually above this trap. Both parties put blind faith in their favored candidates.

you have just completely pulled a rug out from under me, I 'm so glad you've cleared this up for me, almost. there are sequences i've experienced that combine entanglement, with these summoned accents, over distances of time and space that would make it appear that i'm mirroring out to others who are'nt local, if that makes sense? I'm not of any means to pay for any services, but if you would take half an hour to talk with me, I think I might be interesting to you? the language i'm using isn't isn't accurate, but maybe you could ask the right questions. I'll understand if you aren't so inclined, but I figured it worth a try, and so I did. thanks for a great video !

@28:45 great psychotherapeutic story of a victim of synchronicity, almost too cute, I am not sure it is not made up or embellished, but it sure sounds good! @40:30 the Trap of believing synchronicities. As in before enlightenment "Chop wood, carry water" after enlightenment "Chop wood, carry water." Or as mediums learn to not get caught up in the circus tricks that sideline your spiritual paths. For me, it is always about questioning what happened and thinking "Maybe"

I noticed that Dr. Surprise's voice sounds like Jeff Goldblum's. I figured I'd find a synchronistic connection if I looked up Jeff Goldblum, and sure enough... a reference to Jurassic Park popped right up, (a movie I've never seen, by the way) stating that he played a chaos theorist! How cool is that?

C.G. Jung also called synchronicities " acts of creation in time," and that's precisely what the nice ones feel like, but synchronicities have an experiential counterpart that feel like acts of "destruction" in time: IRO-nicities. The gentleman interviewed sees the world thru too mechanistic a lense for me... I don't feel like I am omniscient enough to declare there is no real magic in the cosmos.

What he's talking about here is I think mathematical equations that he is interpreting with a verbal narrative or story, a sort of philosophical explanation of the math but not necessarily representative of reality. I do agree that we reflect ourselves onto our environment and people though. Just my opinion.

What happens to me is ill think about a completely random thought, and ill hear it on the radio. Like broken glass. And ill hear that exact phrase. I was spanking my dog. And the tv randomly said stop mistreating small animals, i even screamed in my head stop stop stop. And at that same time the lady i was watching on youtube screamed stop stop stop. This happens very often to me. I know we are good patter recognizers. But this is more than the red car illision. This is something thats been happening very heavy for a year or so.
