I have two of these bikes (white & pink) and I love them. I changed out the handlebar stem to a threadless to lower the handlebars since I am only 4’11” now it fits me perfectly! I ride the pink one all over town. So much fun! Thanks for the great review!

when you switch on the screen, go into assist 1, 1st gear then start to pedal.. I find it goes too quick to soon and not as controllable as a normal MTB on the street.. quite a lot of assist in pas 1,oas 2 in lower gear 1-3 and hardly anything in higher . Mine makes a weird creak noise when in 5th gear doing about 13-14 mph. It sounds like it is coming from underneath the neck of the frame. Gears 1-3 seem to be ok with assist. Gears 5, 6 and 7 seems too firm. 7th gear with assist 2 on a flat road 14 mph seems like 24th on MTB. Very difficult to get past 16 mph after the UK 15.5 mph cut off. When riding my MTB, it is easy for me to do 3 mph walking pace for any length of distance in lowest gears.. On the c100 it cannot be done, it is difficult to get to 4.6 and then have to mess around with my foot pressure and turning. Get to 5mph then goes quicker again.. this will be not good in certain places such as a narrower path where dog walkers suddenly appear. It just accelerates too quickly at lowest gears and could be dangerous on a pedestrian path

The loss of power when switching from assist 4 down to 3 in higher gears on a flat road is too much of a sudden drop. Seems like the bike generally works better on a flat road in lower gears 1-3 in low assist around 10 mph and end up pedaling more in lower because the motor assist demands it to keep the momentum ...comparing that to gears 5-7, different world and more likely battery zapping pas 4 and 5 needs to be on just to do 13-15 mph....if it gets to 15.5 mph I don't know if it is my imagination or not but because of our 15.5 mph configuration, it feels like assist does not want to assist much when creeping towards that point

@@johnsouthwales1078 Thanks for sharing your experience. Some people prefer torque sensors over cadence sensors for the very reasons you explained above. When I'm concerned about excessive torque from pedaling in narrow public places I gradually apply the throttle, or disable pedal assist completely for more control.

Thanks for posting such a detailed review of this bike, I’m really keen to buy this particular model so the info is very helpful for a complete bike novice like me. A quick question if that’s ok - is it possible to attach a front basket or would the wires and handlebar shape not allow for that? Thank you.
@ColinLeung
@ColinLeung 29 күн бұрын
Hello Kat, thanks for the question. The C100 has mounting points for a front basket. I haven't tested it out personally, but it looks like the basket may interfere with the front wires. A solution would be to untie the cable management, and route the cabling around the basket. I hope this helps.

Yesterday I tested it out with a quick ride with the bike switched off, very achy leg today.. did something in the garden while the battery was charging. Went out for a ride with bike on. the bike doesn't half shift with the speed sensors. Roundabouts a bit tricky and hand signals. If anything my left arm feels weird as I am so used to a MTB reach

Yeah, I didn't like the curvature of the handlebar. You can always swap it out for a flat handlebar.

@@ColinLeung I'm wondering if Eskute Polluno plus has the same angles. Then again I opted out of that because of a potential integrated screen. What if in say three years times it goes, how am I going to replace it. Nice idea I'll try it for a month but first impressions never will lie, it is too close. It's ok for a shorter person with slightly shorter arms. Now it's stopped raining today, I might go for a ride. Maybe tomorrow, no rush. Ha, when I approach a roundabout and want to turn right, soon as I stop pedalling it's a bit like the brakes are applied, it slows down too quick and when pedal to keep a balance, it shoots forward quick, and when shooting forward while indicating, that is an issue. Turning left while pedaling could be one as well, the opposite. I could look out for a better curve.. I guess someone 5ft 5 may find it a bit too close, their reach would be about an inch closer than 6ft. Then again someone 5ft 5 would struggle with the netuno as that reach is 65cms, so one size fits all does not work

Good lord, the little grips on the pedals are breaking off now. Wether the motor is sluggish or not but something does not feel quite right. Today I was doing a steady speed and felt a slight drop and without increasing my pedaling, it came back on. Think I was in assist 2 or 3 and in 4th about 10 mph on a flat road.

I’m interested this bike but concerned it would feel cramped even though I’m within the stated height range. Can you please tell me how tall you are and what is your inseam is. Also, based on the difference in top speed when you held up the rear tire vs when you were actually riding, I’m concerned the bike might be too underpowered to handle my weight. I’m not too, too. big but I’m not skinny either! l might be too heavy for this bike, lol. Also, at this price point I assume it doesn’t have a USB charging port, correct? Thanks!
@ColinLeung
@ColinLeung 22 күн бұрын
Hello Ellen, I'm 5'11" with a 32" inseam. My knees did not feel cramped while riding, and I still had length to extend the seatpost. The handlebar can also be rotated outwards more if feeling cramped is a concern. It's always better to have a more powerful motor even if you don't utilize the full potential. If the ebike seemed slow to you during the test ride then I'd suggest getting a 500w or 750w motor. Correct it does not have usb charging port.

Any explanation why my new c100 bike seatpost sinks inside the tube, the clamp will not hold anything. Sorry to say it
@ColinLeung
@ColinLeung 25 күн бұрын
Hello, I assume you have tried pulling the lever and tightening the other end of the clamp clockwise all the way? That usually helps. It's possible that the seatpost provided is too narrow for the opening. They come in various sizes. Do you have a ruler to measure the seat post opening, and seat post? If the seatpost is too small then you may have to contact the company for a replacement.

what you should have done is shown a close up if the front brake pads and this plastic piece. I got some rubbing so i do not know if it is a common issue or not. Ezplain how much you loosened each bolt. If you kneel behind when loosening and looking at which way it is moving at the cable side. Would it make aby difference if pinching witg rhe left hand and tightening or slacken with the right. Ut is a oity there is any brake rub in the furst place and can be upsetting. What happens if tighten all the way, what happens when slacken half a turn. I don't kbiw hiw yours went quiet when you said you pressed the brake lever. Why would a disc be warped when new
@ColinLeung
@ColinLeung 25 күн бұрын
Hello, sometimes companies place piece a plastic between the brake pads to prevent them from falling off during shipping. If you don't see the plastic then it's not there. The easiest way to adjust the brakes is to loosen the caliper bolts enough until you can wiggle the caliper left and right. Press and hold the brake lever, and then tighten the bolts. Try spinning the wheel. If that doesn't resolve the rubbing issue then you have to loosen the bolts again, look at the space between the disc and brake pads, and try to center the disc between the pads. Then tighten the bolts. It requires a lot of trial and error until it doesn't rub. Sometimes the disc can be warped if the box was hit during shipment.
