My mum was a bit like this. When I travelled overseas on holiday, she didn’t know what to do. When I was out late, she’d call me numerous times and text. Worse when I was in hospital for two weeks she couldn’t sleep. My brother had to come and stay over them my sister. I prayed for God to take care of her and help her not to panic. A few years later she passed away 😢 I miss her terribly 😢😢

The gentle giant trope, when handled properly is soooo powerful. The contrast between his size, build, implied ability to easily crush a person's skull (which is sooo much of the masculinity we get nowadays. e,g highly proficient and relentless killers who take scores upon scores of lives like John Wick) and his innocence, introversion, caring, kindness and lack of violence is so striking (especially as it concerns the treatment of vulnurable women). Only the hardest hearted viewer can not find him endearing. Great character work by the writer auteur. Great acting.

Forgive the not-so-nice old lady. About 2/3s of people above 60 have mental illnesses like dementia or schizophrenia. When you are old, your mind is clouded, it's like puberty on steroids, in your 60s. If you have something to say, rude or good. You say it regardless. It's like telling a traumatized war veteran to go back to war and don't think about past experiences. Forgiveness is one key to the many doors to a peaceful world.

I could relate to some part of this. My late mom and my sisters always talked back about my late father, how useless he was. They pressured me into thinking that all men are useless and it ruined my self esteem growing up. After my mother died, I went out and get to see the world. I learned a lot, my sisters has changed too, due to some dramas with me. I love them all but sometimes they didn't realise how hurtful they're. To all ladies, don't mental torture your men. We mostly just hold it in without telling no one. Don't blame us for the fault of other men.
@alzorama2876

I could relate to it, too, even though I am a woman. My mom is very controlling albeit in a quiet way. She also drove my dad away and blamed him for many things and still talks about his faults as if they happened yesterday. My dad passed two years ago, but we had a very close and special relationship for many years. Of course my dad had his faults, but he was not a bad man and we loved each other very much. When women emasculate men, they end up losing in the end. Edited to say that I am sorry for your experience and I wish you the very best.

@@daviedood2503 no that’s made up psycho babble horse 💩 from pseudo intellectual psych degree holders. ‘Introject’ is an asinine way saying complex. You calling a complex an introject is like me calling a cloud an aerodroplet mass. It’s a ham handed regurgitation of concepts that have already been invented a century ago by Jung. Do yourself a favor and get educated before getting all arrogant. It’s not a good look and makes you come off as cringey to say the least 😬
