Other than it doesn't really say why the Mom is the only in the community that is against the mall? If they are dependent upon her to sell, that means everyone else already did and she is the only one that is against community growth. It really makes no sense since she could have negotiated for a cash payment and also for a place in the mall where she could continue having her shop. It really makes no sense.

I recommend watching Korean and Japanese movies. Their story is on a whole new level of Hollywood. Said this for years. Hollywood is following a standard storyline. Bad guy, good guy and a woman in the middle. Doesn't matter what genre the movie is, they always have those in it. Watch Korean movies.. Their the best in making new stories. And not doing remakes like Hollywood

Tattoos still scare people in many Asian countries. In Korea, my younger brother and I went to a bath house and we are covered in ink. For context, yes, we were both former street thugs in our youth. Anyway, the point is Older generation Koreans despise and fear tattoos because only gangsters and prisoners have tattoos. So when we undressed and entered the main bathing room, You should have see how quickly it cleared out. Despite the brief awkwardness, we had a relaxing and peaceful time. The entire space to ourselves. It helps to have a younger brother who is 6'2", serious resting asshole face and built like a tank to add to the intimidation factor. I'm 5'7" on a good day. I don't want to talk about how unfair the height difference is. 😂

simple yet the best way to deliver the story the choregraphy and the direction is so good in this movie. Korean movies like these without being extraordinary can still make an impact when you watch it and for me this is one of the best Korean movie as it made me understand Korean movies offers so many other things other than just a good story . U can make a good movie even just out of a simple story line just need to know how to deliver it and attract the attention of the viewers . Not to mention the exceptional casting and performance from the actors themselves .

Should be a lesson in that one should show kindness but never weakness. Confucius said that allowing insult invites injury and he couldn't be more correct. I know this is just a movie, but these mistakes can easily translate into real life. Never allow people to walk all over you.

@zeroone2731 I think people would be very divided on that opinion, but yes, we always have to weigh the risks of our decisions, but we also shouldn't always bow to tyranny even if there is a high cost. But obviously that is always easier said than done... we do have to know how to pick our fights and if we decide to run then we must accept whatever that brings, but if we decide to fight, then it can't be done half heartedly, we have to go all in, without mercy and accept whatever that brings as well.

@@jamal69jackson77 yes I agree even this movie depicted somewhat would happen in real life if you try to fight a mob organization as a regular citizen the mother got killed even tho they gave up cause she blackmailed the politician the MC could indeed fight back but considering the nature of the mob organization he will just tire himself while the mob can pick fights and go after his family which happened (the 1v50 hotel fight is ridiculous) it really comes down to know when to fight and give up its not like they were in real tyranny in a life and death situation they could simply live and start a new life

@@zeroone2731 yes, the odds are extremely against a person or persons confronting powers greater and more capable than they are, but we all know what even one person with extreme motivation and determination can do even to powers that are greater. A person who has lost all fear along with the notion that they have nothing to lose is a dangerous thing, even for organized crime or powerful entities. Still not likely to win though, just do a lot of damage if they get it right. But if a person is smart, cunning and has some special skills or gets others to join the fight, they might pull a rare upset. It has happened in real life.

Most Asian countries look down on tattoos, like how they used to be viewed here in the U.S., just unlike in western countries it's less likely to be normalized. I married a Japanese woman in the 90s and she had several tattoos that signified her family, and yes her family was in the "family business". She absolutely refused to let me get any tats at all. I just wanted a simple dragon. She got a tiger tat to symbolize me because i was born in the year of the tiger, she was a dragon so that was my thoughts but she flatly said NO. Our daughters (my step daughters, she had kids already) told me that in Japanese society tattoos are bad and it was already hard enough for a white guy to be accepted so no need to aggravate it.

Tattoos were frowned up and scary in the whole world some decades ago, it had the exact same meaning as in Asia, just not all Mafia. It wasnt just thugs and gangsters that had tattoos, tho mostly, but Veterans as well that you didnt want to fuck around with. No....the gangsters went "corporate". There are still low level street thugs but the mafia have all gone into big business. Politics, real estate, entertainment, finance. But the low level guys still run gambling, prostitution, drugs, loansharking, night clubs and porn. Korea had a former gangster as its first president after the Japanese occupation and Korean war. The older generation still revere gangsters because they were freedom fighters and rebels against the Japanese while the politicians cowered like bitches and did whatever the Japanese told them to do. Gangsters did plenty of crime. Don't get me wrong. The fear and hate for them is warranted but it was after the war when scared ass politicians started this campaign to drive out gangsters from seats of power. Just like a crooked ass politician to wait until the smoke they helped create to clear to talk loud and point fingers at others for the locals to direct their anger.

If you are born gen-z you won't understand, tattoo started popularize with gang culture during the WW2 in china and soon it spread across korea, japan and the whole southeast asia. The famous one are the opium war in china where tattoo gangsters basically run the street even police fear them as they easily outnumber them. Another one will be the hong kong triad wars of 14K vs Sun Yee On during the 60s, they are so violence to get the job done that even corrupt politician hired them to dispose the rival politician and kill the entire family, they also managed to get the entire police department to protect the gangs until the ICAC was created to counter gangs and corruption. There's a reason why back then, a person with tattoo are blacklist from every jobs and also ban from any national sports even if you are as good as Messi

The tattoo the main character has is of the most beautiful tattos I've seen in any movie or IRL. Whomever designed it created a work of art.
