Great shots Bevan - showing what mighty locos the 38's are. The last start out of Zig -Zag is particularly impressive (followed by the way with 5 minutes of nothing).

So it wasn't just me that faded to black just as they started the climb through the rat holes.....

Poor 3830, always the bridesmaid, always trailing behind 3801. Also loved the touch with the 'roos on the Wallerawang Triangle.

There's been quite a few times 3830 has being 3801's pilot on mainline excursions.

It's hard to believe you can burn coal that cleanly. I love the shots of the guys out on the coal car shoveling. Nice video, thanks!

3801 and 3830 are the Best. Reasons are: 3801: First NSW Pacific, First NSW Streamliner, Fastest NSW Steam Loco, involved in many tours with the Flying Scotsman, Starred in award winning short film and visited all 🇦🇺 mainland states. 3830: Last Steam Loco built in NSW (completed 1949) and doubleheaded with 3801 on many tours.

Bet they made going through the tunnels East of Lithgow an interesting experience.
