Nah he didn’t use any clips so he should have been able to slide the weights off. The bar was just not letting go of the plates for some reason

Didn't look like he had collars on. I think the bar and plates were too rusty to slide. Sometimes you just get caught. Glad he was stout enough to get out from under it - could have been worse!

Invest in a power rack with safety straps. Don't need to lift super heavy anyway, Not worth the risk

slightly unrelated but never bench heavy alone with a super wide grip. the wider your grip is, the more impossible it is to save yourself on a fail.

are you actually braindead? by this logic every single lift failed due to weight is ego lifting as if you've never failed a lift in your life, ego lifting is directly related to FORM, if it's too much to where your form breaks down, that's ego lifting, maintaining form and testing your max is called lifting, THINK.

@@BuffPomsky you only go for a new pr when your able to comfortably hit 10-12 rep range for multpile sets not just 1 set. I would say if your able to do 6 to 8 sets with x amount weight for 9-12 rep range than you can go up 20 pounds. 10-15 minute breaks each set
