The Landy has come up really nice. They are just a good truck that will plod along all day. Fuel use was a good result.

Loving the mods ya doing. I just did that myself in my landy. The biggest gains i got with the new support mods. Was a boost pin and boost ring from Fourby in the UK. plus a couple turns on the diesel pump lol. Keep it up mate.

Gotta tune it and wind up the fuel to match the flow and cooling of the I/C to get any difference with that setup. It's a good setup.

nice work...it all helps to get the 300Tdi chuffing along. I also modified the steel pipe between the turbo and intercooler to remove the squashed section (that goes over the strut tower). also have a straight through 63mm exhaust (front section wrapped) and a pump tune, gets my 1998 300Tdi 130 moving. Dyno tuned at 110psi at the wheels (on 285's)

If you get a expansion tank cap from a later Range Rover Classic with a float switch and wire in a relay and buzzer for a low coolant alarm.

I'll have a look at that, thanks!

Hi. You made nice and clean job. To make sure it’s good to cat on half plastic T and check inside how look also lm not sure if your main radiator fan is plastic it’s good for change.
@Just_Tom092 жыл бұрын
The reduction in fuel use is likely from the new airbox to turbo pipe. The old rubber ones can collapse and restrict flow and make it (more) gutless.
@SIDETRACKED2 жыл бұрын
Cheers Tom, thought that may play a part also.

You need a burp / radiator bleed funnel . Amazing how much air gets caught and will only ever come out after the thermostat opens a few times . I’ve sold cars as the heater never worked and later found out this is why ! ( silly reverse flow cars ! )

Yes that is the ventury valve.

Great video and great job! Any issues experienced with the T piece installed? Also, you mentioned tuning at the end of your video. Didnt kniw there was much opportunity to tune a 300tdi?
@tobysmith49802 жыл бұрын
Nice video mate. Just noticed you still have a plastic bung where you filled the coolant up from. Swap this out for a brass one as the plastic ones can and do let go eventually…. Ask me how I know.

Just curious; all that aluminium is very nice looking and looks very though; but I wonder how it behaves in the long term dealing with vibrations and metal fatigue? or is that something not to worry about?
@carltonr34172 жыл бұрын
Just wondering how you bleed the cooling system? Did you bleed the head as well?
@SIDETRACKED2 жыл бұрын
Filled the radiator, sealed the plug, filled the thermostat cover, sealed it, half filled the overflow. Then idled the engine with heater on full, repeated 3 times when cooled.

I have a 300tdi which has not had any boost pin or other improvements and I consistently get 10.5 to no more than 11.0 litres per 100kms. I'm near to GVM. Are you sure about what you say that yiu get 5litres per 100 kms improvement?.
@SIDETRACKED2 жыл бұрын
I've had 17litres/100kms since the lift, 35's, rack, weight etc. She's now at 12.7 litres/100kms so something there was severely wrong with my cooler or intake.

How the hell did I miss this? I think replacing the OEM shroud with the aftermarket ones that have been designed for the kit you are fitting is a smart move. I know you guys CAN modify your cars however, sometimes it's easier to not do it. And then after all the screwing around, you have to end up having to McGuyver a solution...

Dude I can’t believe you have spent so much on hoses and fancy intercooler and expansion tank, but have also eliminated the ventury valve, one of the most important protections for your engine. That was the dumbest think you could have ever done.
