To get the best out of the VNT now you will need to get the fuel system adjusted along with boost pressure on the Dyno. It will be a totally different animal then. 💨 👍😎

Yep, definitely need a tune to get the most out of a new turbo.

Great video, love the kit. Have a think about putting a transfer case sump extension onto the transfer case instead of the current "flat plate" cover. It gives you an additional 1.7 litres of transfer case oil capacity and is ribbed to improve cooling. Those transfer cases get pretty hot, more so when the vehicle is used hard and with the added power of new turbos' and boost pins.

Has it made any improvement? Like power and pulling power. Is there more turbo noise as well?

Sceptical on the double washer on that banjo fitting
@nedshead59062 жыл бұрын
I would have used a couple of copper crush washers, and probably annealed them for good measure
@SHANDEE22 жыл бұрын
Yep, would have just ran a normal Banjo washer top n bottom. No rubber seal on those washers.

More power, more downstream problems on the way. Hope not but just my experience. Replace with new stock parts for reliability. Love this LR, very well set up for trips.

Great video… curious as to know what the cost was (including shipping) landed in Australia?
@howgood11402 жыл бұрын
Yeah ditto, according to their website you're copping at least $2.5k before shipping 😵
@SIDETRACKED2 жыл бұрын
About $2540 landed. May have been some tax on top once arriving, can't remember now.
@robmacca672 жыл бұрын
@@SIDETRACKED thanks for that... I thought u would have been hit with extra tax. Anything over $1000 and u are hit with extra tax which would have made the total cost around $3000 or so landed... Will be interested to hear of the performance results vs cost outlay especially with u running 35” tyres

@SIDETRACKED.AUSTRALIA how difficult was it to remove the oil return fitting in the engine block? @3:46 mark. Mine seems on there pretty good but just hit it with PB blaster to see if that helps. Worried about shaving the socket edges
@SIDETRACKED2 ай бұрын
Mine came out ok, some heat around the area may help if your struggling.
@motondska2 ай бұрын
@SIDETRACKED thanks, ended up getting it out by covering the hole and spraying a little bit of pblaster, then cleaned it up with a wire brush to get a nice snug contact.

Was the manifold drilled to accept EGT probe when you received it?
@SIDETRACKED2 жыл бұрын
Nope this was done by me, 1 part I forgot to get any footage of... There is a designated area to drill, probably not pre-drilled due to the varying probes that might be used?

Why didnt you upgrade to a dual port intake? I have it on my 300tdi disco and it breathes so much better! Only cost me $600
@SIDETRACKED Жыл бұрын
I didn't know they were that much better. Thanks, I'll do more research.
@tedpanozzo7632 Жыл бұрын
@@SIDETRACKED It drives like a normal car now, my Disco is completely stock except for the intake and it flies up hills and accelerates like a petrol car. You can get the whole kit from the UK for about $600.

Me thinks that because you have no qualms about throwing money towards this British Jeep, that perhaps contact dieselpumpUK and get the OM606 engine and kit and be the first in OZ to punt a 300HP Defender around the country. I'd like to see that done.
