$15 tactical 30L backpack is still the best budget to get, loads of versatility, straps and pockets,
@patregan6 жыл бұрын
One of the zippers on mine gave out after a few months of flying. They aren't exactly convenient, either. I used to have to unstrap my quads and unload almost all my gear before I could start flying. Then you have to wait until you're done flying to Tetris everything back into the bag in the correct order. I'll never use a bag where I have to stack most items on top of each other just to get them to fit ever again.
@TheMadmacs6 жыл бұрын
yeah the zips kinda weak, i've fixed two and just avoid straining them again, i use box googles and i just strap them on the outside with two quads now, only things inside are radio batteries and tools and spares, batteries get the front pocket all to themselves about 10 max? hex's and pliers et hooked into netting, and radio is in middle poket with the little pocket carrying the little things and i still have room for a laptop in the main pocket, for $15 its just impossible to beat.
@bumbleboltfpv37076 жыл бұрын
Toootttaly Agreed. I use the 45L for a bit more space inside it since I use box goggles.
@TheMadmacs6 жыл бұрын
i need a new one, should i go for 45L? will box goggles fit inside middle pocket without stressing the zips?

The expensive bags aren't for everyone. I couldn't believe how much time my ThinkTank Airport Helipak saved me the first time I used it. I used to have to kind of sprawl out my gear before I could start flying, and I'd have to pack that stuff away again when I was done. Now I just pull things out when I need them, and put my goggles and Taranis back in their home whenever I'm not using them. It only saves me 5 minutes each time I go flying, but that means I have time to fly one more pack. For me, that is a huge value. Two months ago, my doctor wouldn't let me lift more than 10 pounds for two weeks after a slightly-invasive test. I rearranged a $30 AmazonBasics DSLR bag and packed the essentials for flying. It is a lot like the bag in the video, but a bit smaller. I strapped a 5" quad, a 3" quad, and my 2 pound chair to the outside. My goggles, Taranis, and a half dozen batteries for each quad went on the inside. There was room for some tools, but I didn't pack much--just spare props and an 8mm nut driver. The DSLR bag was definitely an upgrade over my old 30L bag. The dividers let me treat it much like I do my ThinkTank bag--even if I had to leave 14 pounds of gear at home! The AmazonBasics bag at $30 with two day shipping is fine. This $39 bag is probably better, but it sure looks like you can get nearly the same bag from Aliexpress for $25 or so. The best bag is the bag you have, and most people shouldn't buy a $200 bag. But if $39 sounds like too much to spend, I reckon the $25 version of this very same bag (minus one quad strap on the back) is a much better value for most people than the old tactical bag with the weak zippers.
@uteboy866 жыл бұрын
I have both bags they are both good but spend the extra $20 on Reallarc bag it's bigger holds up better and comes with a tool holder. You won't regret buying it. As for the zippers some reviewers complain about just look after it and don't beat it up and they work perfect. Stu is 100% right they compare it to $300 bags it's like comparing a Ferrari to a Toyota, both work well but are in different classes.

Hey Stu I used a a cloth zip up cooler as my first drone bag. Lol The things we find uses for that weren't their intended use.

I think the side straps are meant for a tripod. I've been using this bag for about 3 months and with 12 lipos and 2 quads, the shoulder strap has given up. So you get what you pay for I guess! I still rate it, but probably good for 8 ish lipos and a single drone as the extra weight is too much stress for the shoulder straps

Covers to hold the gimbal sticks in place so they can't bounce around or get squashed are a must, I printed some after I had to replace gimbal parts because the pitch control stopper broke off from the stick bouncing up/down whilst the TX was in a hard shell case in my bike panniers (the roads in the UK are atrocious, you could practically drive blindfolded by reading the potholes like braille!)

Nice Video, Stew. One tip I use is to stack your quads. One attacked to the bag, the next strap on with the first battery strap. Works well with some top mount quads. I got a cheap rucksack £12 about 6 months back, no problems so far. X-lite is perfect for a carry all bag.
@lycanfpv95306 жыл бұрын
I'm sure you could get some velcro and stick it to the inside to make the bag more modular. the thing I love about this bag and the realacc bags is that they are still perfect size for everyday use wjen your not flying
@Haitchpeasauce6 жыл бұрын
For the Aussies, I found JB Hi Fi stocks a really nice pack that has more compartments, similar size, and can hold quads with no extra strap mods. I'm very happy with the better quality build&materials and more features. Search for "XCD Essentials SLR Camera Backpack", and it costs AUD$40 too.

@juanofarc30075 жыл бұрын
I think the large straps on the side are for a tripod. If they were designed to hold quads that was a terrible decision, since it puts the propellor blades right under your arm. I’m pretty sure it just holds a single quad on the back that’s ready to fly, and whatever spares you want to bring stuck inside without props.
@KIKI55cro6 жыл бұрын
Haha Grumpy Egg, funny, think of one for Cal next time ;) Good video Stew, allways nice too know this useful info drone related, I personaly use a small lower cardboard box ;) in witch I put smaller plastic boxes with gear thrown in, thats when I fly from the back of my car, fits nice in the thrunk, when I go off road etc, I use old hiking backpack, got lots of storage compartments.
