Thanks for visiting the Richmond and Martinez stations. Having lived in both places in the last 20 years I often spent the late afternoons railfanning just outside th Martinez Station and at the Richmond Station. Hope you are back in California to video the new electrification of the San Jose - San Francisco CALTRAN Line after the new articulated units are in operation. Thank you RRHG.

Tim, I was pleased to learn that it is possible to get head end video with the new Caltrain electric MU train sets. It sure beats side window shots. You just have to hope the operator doesn't pull down the window shade. And it was interesting to learn that the overhead in the tunnels is rigid bar mounted on the ceiling.

That’s what they say, but you wouldn’t be able to get as far forward to the window as I did on the Nippon cars. I have to see how one looks.

If you would’ve visited a week later you would’ve seen 907. 903 was retired in December 2023 due to a some mechanical problem from what I heard from

It would be nice. There might be some kind of a dimensional or weight restriction on that. They have problems with their own locomotives which are much newer than those.
