Iron Will broadheads aren't stainless steel. Use mineral oil to coat them. I just apply it with a qtip after sharpening, and before any potentially wet hunt. It keeps my iron will and cutthroat heads rust free.

So bummed to hear you may not film your hunts but I understand. My first bow season was last year and your videos were vital to my experience out there. Serious grateful for your efforts and content. Bow hunting has changed my life. Elk Shape!!!

This type video is my favorite! As far as the quiver hoods holding water...I would drill a couple small drain holes and water can never collect, just my .02
@Shallowforks1 Жыл бұрын
Thats a good Idea also, the only thing I would say about that is it wont prevent them from getting wet and even though they wont be sitting in water that sharpened edge will still rust quickly

Frame by frame at 6:32 Jake draws back with vertical grip with fingers pressed firm to front of the riser and has a good wobble near full draw. Video cuts to different shot with proper 45 degree grip on the bow. That vertical grip is exactly how you derail a bow.

in 5mm, the deepower shift lighted nocks are excellent. Almost identical to the nockturnals and about $16 for a 4 pack.

Wax on the broadheads after sharpening helps with rust too.
@thek5blazerman Жыл бұрын
One thing I have done with my cutthroat broadheads to combat rain/rust is run chap stick along the blade right before I put them in the quiver. Doesn't add weight and rubs off as it enters the animal.

I'm sure it's just a different tone or something, but is it just me that thought that Bowtech sounded dramatically quieter than the Mathews??
@ShepherdOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I might be wrong but iron wills aren’t stainless to be able to have that 60 HRC hardness level, that’s why they sell the oil to keep them from rusting. I personally haven’t had any problem with them rusting in wet conditions.

@shallowforks1 what about drilling a pinhole through the side or bottom of the quiver into that air cavity for drainage instead of silicon; think that will work? maybe just big enough to get a pipe cleaner rod through it to keep it clear.

Hunting videos are great! I actually think last years videos/ last seasons videos, were better than this newer stuff. I feel like theres been less shooting, wasnt a huge fan of the daily vlog style hunt video's. Also just a thought, but maybe your tinkering videos and stuff get more views because peoeple watch them over and over to follow along on arrow building or how to tie a d loop etc. So play counts are probably kind of deceiving. I love the casual natuer, the trash talk and friendship.

Hunting videos in general aren’t going to be million and millions of views because on a grand scale not that many people are hunters but if the hunting videos were as well put together as let’s say a channel like Elk101 then I would bet the 50k average views they get per video would be about the same but the production quality isn’t the same so yours will grow slower 🤷♂️ love watching the full hunt and them calling bulls in and doing gear dumps and what not. I would rather watch an hour of the full fun parts of the hunt rather then a 15-20 min condensed version 🤷♂️
