You guys are the best dev ever!! You guys have artist first mentality and always listening to feedback. I didn’t even hesitate to update to toolbag 5 even though i was already happy with owning toolbag 4 . Thank you guys as always for hard work and making our life easier !

Thank you Marmoset for the detailed breakdown! Looks like this video answers a lot of workflow questions I was having for the new features.

Everything in toolbag 5 is awesome. The only thing left I want is other method to project texture onto the mesh, like sphere/cylinder/cube/planar projection. Maybe warp too, with ability to edit the warp on both 3d and 2d viewport. Is there any plan or this feature? Thanks

Thanks for the feedback! We don't have more base material projection modes available right now (only UV, UDIM, and Triplanar), but we'll get this request upvoted for our dev team!

@MarmosetCo thanks for the reply. I can't thank you guys enough since TB3. I only discovered those projection methods in SP earlier this year and I cant live without them

Awesome thanks for sharing, coming from Painter it's cool to see pretty much every feature that i can remember here in this program, it even has Hair groom import and texturing which Painter doesn't have, one thing strange is the layer order, seem that sublayers have the regular down up order but layer masks seem to have the opposite, is that correct? I also don't see the equivalent to ancor point being able to link multiple layers together, it may be called something else here.

What about the vital matter of Unreal 5 interoperability. Is there an update on this?

Still use toolbag 3 periodically. Did skip updating to toolbag 4, mostly because work moved away from art. This update makes me want to jump back in again.

I still only use it for baking and sometimes rendering (UE5/Blender is kind of taking that away though). Texturing is very painful in Marmoset, the UX is terrible and the UI very rigid. Even for baking it starts pissing me off a bit lately with auto loader not working properly and opening 3 extra sub menus every time I double click on an object in the scene. I would say that if you can get SBS painter on steam as perpetual, do that and simply render on UE5 or Blender (they have material nodegraph and are very fast too). If you can't get Painter on a perpetual license then you could give Toolbag 5 a chance I guess, (and I say that because I hate subscription licenses).

If you have a specific workflow or feature related question, let us know and we will be glad to help. Meanwhile, you can get hands on and try out the baking, texturing, and rendering features for yourself with a free, 30-day trial license.

Would you like to create tutorial of hard surface texturing for beginner? (Grenade, shoes, axe, etc)

I agree, I hope we'll have nodegraph that just like Mari and paint like SP in the future
