In this free tutorial we will go over the fundamentals of 3D modeling and sculpting within Unreal Engine! We will only use the tools available in UE4 to create a delicious doughnut completely from scratch. 3D modeling in Unreal Engine is great and it can be very helpful for creating level blockouts and quickly editing already existing assets in the engine.

Wow great tutorial! Just one tip, there are more efficient ways to do that initial selection on the torus, using the different Selection Modes in the selection brush (eg the angle-filtered and all-within-angle). In 4.26 we have some other tools that would have made it easier to make the 'icing', like the Offset and VoxWrap tools.

People who are complaining about modelling in Unreal are missing the whole point. Sensei himself says that he'd rather model in Zbrush. This is to illustrate a point that even after bringing meshes in Unreal, one can tweak the geometry if need be. Plus there are so many extra nuggets of Information,tips and tricks sprinkled through like painting vertex color etc. Thanks Sensei or Unreal Guru? One Request- Can you teach us Unreal Composure? Hardly any tutorial and would love to be able to put green screen actors in these real time backgrounds.

I like how you are creating tutorials which will help people who use a different 3D software transition to Unreal Engine. Bcos learning Unreal Engine is on many artists' to-do list. If possible, create some Product Visualizations using Unreal for modelling and then PBR texturing/lighting and finally rendering all done using Unreal only. Watch some vidoes on Vimeo for Mobile Phone companies advertisements like Samsung or Sony to understand what I mean. Anyways, thanks for uploading helpful content.

Great tutorial! Would you consider redoing this tutorial in Unreal Engine 5? I'm following along in 5 right now, but this modelling tool is different from this enough that someone who's new to Unreal Engine like me would struggle a bit. Specifically, PolyGroups seems work quite differently enough that I'm getting lost in the UI details and missing the how and why of how this works. Thanks regardless!

@chironpictures
@chironpictures Жыл бұрын
@@msob7y Turns out, I did. Yes, there is definitely an advantage to using Blender for modelling, especially when it comes to things like precision modelling. However, being able to model directly in Unreal Engine really speeds up certain tasks. For example, having the ability to model right in the context of a scene helps you to make sure it fits within everything else in a scene. It’s also fast if you’re doing something like modelling walls after you’ve created a map already and you want to make changes or add and expand rooms or layouts. In any case this tutorial is great and having an updated one would be great as well.
