You’re probably not using a material with a Transparent render mode. I think blender defaults to “opaque” render mode for materials. Play with those settings (it’s probably what makes your transparent things opaque).

What is the shader that you use to get those completely flat colors (so that it looks like a drawing)? All the shaders I tried have lighting which is good for realism, but bad for this anime look.

38:25 When even Photoshop isn't enough to fight the garbage texturing tools in Blender. Btw. what addons are you using for texturing? It looks like you've got something for managing the colours for your brush, or have a colour palette or something to quickly switch between the colours (unless you just sample from the reference image, which I can't see in the timelapse).

Hey, I found your channel like 3-4 days ago. Really great stuff! I bet you get this question a lot but how do I get into creating these Vtuber avatars? Is there anything specific? Any tutorials or something? I have experience in 3DS Max but none in Blender and I think Blender is way freindlier for this kind of stuff. Is the transition from one software to the other hard? Any tips at all would be very helpful. Keep up the nice work. :)

Transferring your 3D skills from 3DS to blender shouldn't be a problem considering how user friendly blender is. And if u find any issues with the transfer, the blender community is honestly a very understanding community, a lot of them will help most newcomers in need.

it would probably be in your best interest to watch and follow the donut tutorial that Blender Guru does to get you familiar with blender's UI and mechanics. Already having that experience will greatly speed up your learning process in blender. best of luck

I can't remember if I saw this on stream or if it was a video on this channel but basically for a long time he was just playing games and felt unfulfilled in life. He wanted to do something and started learning blender. I think he said he made stuff like props for a long time and would dl other people models and just kinda fuck around with them. Years later of self-teaching he's gotten to this point. That's the basic rundown of what I could remember of his story. I think he has a 2 video playlist of a couple specific guides but other than that there are his sped-up processes here on yt and his vods/streams on twitch.
