Glad you got to the end design that you were after. Please look into mirror, pattern, offset and sweep commands you would save yourself a lot of time and make it far easier to update the model if the dimensions are not right on the first attempt. these few tools will save you a lot of time on your journey to learning parametric modelling.

Great practical print - I find that adding large semi-circle brims to the corners really helps cut down the warping with PETG and ABS.

Sooo cool. I just fixed my bathroom lock with a measured up, Fusion 360 designed, part. No need to replace the entire lock. Love it. :)

Great video Joe as always, custom work requires custom planning, I love it. I guess the fellow below in chat missed the part where you mentioned about you watching and learning from Lars youtube videos and recommend watching his channel. Keep up the great work, your kitchen looks beautiful.

Thanks buddy. Truth is that I don’t mind being corrected, but that’s the thing, if someone is gonna tell me I did something wrong I’d like for that person to teach me how to do it right rather than just tell me I did it wrong hehe #sharelearngrow and thank you :)

I love Lars. I've learned quite a bit from him. By the way, that was an impressive print to pull off in ABS. Well done.

Looks like you already got plenty of Fusion 360 tips, so all I'll say is that's one beautiful kitchen.

Hi Joe, great video as always. I usually use “ offset” by value of the first box instead drawing two boxes and constraint them, it’s less time consuming . That’s my 2 cents :)

Great project. I guess if it was too small you would have had to reprint it. If it was too big you could just make the hole in the ceiling a little bigger. Here in the states us older dudes call that a putty knife. Love your videos.

Try getting a palette knife or a spatula for Crepes making for getting such large surfaces more easily from the build plate. Since I got some myself they helped me a ton.

why does no one use the offset sketch "o" key feature?
@nerys716 жыл бұрын
Just a suggestion if you do another one make it two pieces a frame that you permanently glue on to the plaster and then this piece that inserts through that frame the reason being is I suspect you will get two maybe three insertions before you will have ground enough of the plaster that it won't fit quite as nicely as when you first started by using a frame you will protect the plaster and dimensional accuracy of the whole I suspect you meant spatula not scalpel scalpel is what surgeons use in surgery it's also typically a putty knife or scraper. I still giggle every time you say video you say it with the i as an e I don't know why it just makes me smile when I hear you say it there's nothing wrong with it I just had to mention that :-) That first layer was truly spectacular especially considering how large it is very clean :-)

You can also select multiple closed sketches for the same extrude command. Good tutorial :) Also, how easy is it to remove from the false ceiling? And try experimenting with the pattern command :) Will definitely help speed up your design process.

When you were extruding those flaps, you could have used the 2 Side Extrude Function and extruded the opposite sides at once. Saves some time and muscle energy 😅.

Personaly I would have made a frame to fix to the plaster board. Then have the cover mate up to the frame. The plaster will brakeup after a small time. Then you will have to redesign this great model .😁 sorry but I do love your channel.

That’s actually a very good idea. Maybe something I can come back to and revisit :) no need to apologize, this is why I upload these, get ideas and hopefully inspire someone to do better than me :)

Nice Video! What would have been easier: You offset the cut plane, then cut through the whole model at once. Also you can select more faces with strg. So instead of three cuts, you would only need one (or two if you count the other cut wich is rotated by 90°..) Also, instead of using splines to model the flexing pieces you could have used a triangle, that would hold it in place more securely, although it would have removed the ability to remove the panel easily. And I'm very suprised how little (or not even noticeable) the part warped.. Nice printer! Keep on goin'!

Great project, however, I would have rather combined this with a light in the ceiling... maybe put the hole where you would have a light anyway so that it serves a function :)
@3DMakerNoob6 жыл бұрын
I already have lights in the ceiling and this would have been of a much larger size than the rest, it’s also not centered in the ceiling so putting a light there wouldn’t make the kitchen lights symmetrical and that would just bug me lol

Your first mistake was to finish your coffee before using Fusion 360. I always drink coffee while using Fusion. My designs go much faster that way! :)

You could have saved a lot of effort by creating one side, then use a pattern around the center to create the other three.

Next time, use offsets of the first one, rather than make them individual rects.. scaling your original rect will not work with the current scheme
@3DMakerNoob6 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Didn’t even occur to me to be honest. Next time :)
@Alperic276 жыл бұрын
Also... shell! rather than your 2 rects (for the wall)
@Alperic276 жыл бұрын
last one: dont measure to the center of that lip, instead make the end point constrained to the center of the height... that would survive a changing of the height from 10 to xx mm

Please don't use THIS video as a tutorial for Fusion 360, guys. You'll miss a lot of valuable basics ;-)
@3DMakerNoob6 жыл бұрын
Because drawing a couple of rectangles and extruding a couple of rectangles can be made so much easier by drawing a couple of rectangles and just extruding them right ;)
@IgnoreMyChan6 жыл бұрын
No, because you're not using the right constraints and extrusion 'extent'. Resizing this one will be a lot more work than necessary. Great that it worked for you, but some one out to learn Fusion 360 should not start with this one ;-)
@3DMakerNoob6 жыл бұрын
Dude, I’m just learning myself, I don’t pretend to be an expert, I always say that what I do and how I do it might not be the most convenient way, but ultimately it gets me to where I need it to :)

The beauty of Fusion 360 is you can do almost anything more than one way. That let’s us amateurs muddle around and still get the job done.
