Okay this video is cute, I love this venture into novelty cups

This just inspired a lot of wild ideas that I will never have the time to model as files given my very limited amateur skills. A glass with two separate drinks that get mixed as you suck on an integrated straw. Also adding two separate air intakes that you cover up with a finger it could be possible to only suck up one of the drinks. Coffee machines generate foam on top of the various coffee drinks by frothing milk or cream or whatever. Maybe it would even be possible to design a coffee cup that does that in real time as you're drinking, though I guess having to consume every drink through a straw would get pretty old fast. Still some interesting possibilities for cocktail drinks.

That’s a cool/unique idea. Could be fairly simple to model

Nice idea :) My guess is that the frothing stems from leaks in the straw, mixing air from the outside into the liquid inside, due to low pressure when sucked.

pretty cool but I would never drink out of PC/PLA. I wonder if there are any glassblowers skilled enough to recreate these

Pentagoblet is a great name. Helagoblet is pretty good, too.

Very very cool designs! Now I wonder how these will do as 3D printed metal slugs... with fine tuning of course :)

I wonder if you could make multiple drink reservoirs, with a different colored drink in each, and then entertain small children with the variations in colors sucked through the straws. Like a pousse-cafe for kids, sort of.

I'm sure that would be possible!

My old 3D printer crashed and burned big time. I wasn't sad because then I could get a new one that could print big things and use many different materials. You know, materials that are strong and can "receive" other parts.... I liked the helical one except for it's got to be nearly impossible to clean.

BTW, in case you haven't tried it, a slightly higher extrusion temperature can improve later bonding and possibly eliminate your leaks.

Im not sure if id use these long term since im sure bacteria would get caught in the layers and grow
@TheIdahoanShow8 ай бұрын
Yeah, the layers (and just complex geometry) do make them difficult to wash. I could probably sterilize them with UV light or alcohol or something between uses, though.

@@TheIdahoanShow both of those would probably degrade the plastic over time, I'd assume

If you like novelty cups, you should look into the NASA space cup. Completely pointless for use in gravity but the engineering is interesting.

How do they work with bourbon? Oh, I forgot. You don't drink.

I was surprised at the lack of this standard bs comment, but finally found it at the very bottom. 🤪
