Aluminum/ bronze cast and quenched it much harder to cut on my mill than 4140- but it's softer than 1018 if it's not quenched ( hardened) A barrel needs to made from this!

Outstanding. Lotta things going around here( in Saint Louis) Lotta evil folk running roughshod over a good portion of this Earth that we were meant to Steward. Pretty timely and oddly appropriate for me personally Been a while since I've cracked open The Book. Do believe that ought to change Thank you brother

Fascinating video. I did not realize a drill bit could drill into that bolt steel without either the bit or the bolt shattering or seizing. What about heat and friction? I thought injection of oil or water be needed - apparently not. Lastly, if the (carbide?) button is strong enough to go through the steel bore, what grinder material is used to cut the rifling pattern onto the button? Thank you for this video and sharing your knowledge.

I do try to add a few drips of cutting oil to the hole or drill bit periodically as I'm drilling the hole, but continuous forced injection isn't necessary. The rifling button that I used is just made from hardened tool steel, so most grinding bits would work on it. But if you can get a carbide blank, a diamond dremel bit will still grind it.

It’s essentially turns it into a dumb dumb round which is super illegal. I’m sure there are no laws specifically against firing a mini ball backwards but the damage it causes is banned by international law.
@TheIdahoanShow
@TheIdahoanShow 17 күн бұрын
For the record, the term "dum dum" applies to any bullet designed to expand on impact, including all types of hollow-points. International convention prohibits their use in war, but they are perfectly legal (and widely used) for hunting, self-defense, and domestic law-enforcement.
@kal-el5535
@kal-el5535 17 күн бұрын
@@TheIdahoanShow It’s hard to tell because the musket is technically “rifled”, and technically will “expand on impact” if fired backwards. But it wasn’t “designed” to do that. It’s only designed to expand when fired. So it’s hard to tell if it wouldn’t fit the legal definition if fired at another person.

Your line of sight is not perpendicular to the target, so some of your error is being created due to the angle of intersection. Place your target at eye height when firing to alleviate. Add to that paced out, rather than measured ranges...

Could the deviation be due to the fact that when shooting you didn't have the bore of the rifle parallel to the ground and at the approximate height of the target?

Nice play on words. For short ranges a low HOB is advantageous. For medium to long range a greater HOB is beneficial. I say this before watching the video.

A thing tactical shooters practice to know. I've not seen anyone do the math in an equation for it though. 😊 Very interesting & cool, good data. HOB is only really cared about with optics because they are so much higher than most irons. But that being said, irons on an AR they higher then most "traditional" iron sights on "older style" rifles. Still, having a decent 'guess' before firing rounds is a very good thing.

in such cases, you can use a periscope mounted on the front lens of the sight,as well as a side sight, I often aim from the side when shooting at close range

这个视频很有科学价值,但是我觉得大部分的火药没有完全燃烧,而是被高压气体所推出去了,从发射出来的物质当中也能看到飞出来的火药粉末,不过这只是我个人猜测😳

I cover my face with a dark T-shirt, to block light from my eyes and keep my bald head warm. So, no light short of a thermal lance is going to wake me. I would like to be woken by bird noises. These would start gently, then increase in intensity over 10 minutes, until it seems the room is replete with dueling roosters. The Australian market might prefer the sound of Tasmanian devils fighting.
