I also love HpInvent's designs, but if you want to avoid overwatering your plants, I recommend finding/designing a planter with drainage holes and a drip tray. It's very easy to drown plants when they can't expel excess water.

I've been letting spools runout mid print like an animal. Using the AMS to hold the replacement spool to not stop printing overnight may have just changed my life.
@ChrisWilmshurst
@ChrisWilmshurst 2 ай бұрын
You sound like an animal! Haha. You’ll save time long run and probably have better print results if you use the AMS as there won’t be a huge break between continuing the print where you left off, or worse.. restarting.

Cable spine is interesting looking, but it seems like it would have been less bulky, less visible and less time consuming to mount a power strip to the bottom of your desk (with 3d printed brackets) and then have a single cable running to the outlet
@ChrisWilmshurst
@ChrisWilmshurst 3 ай бұрын
It would! But due to the layout of my setup. My Mac and pc are not on the desk, so I’m feeding cables from under the shelf over to the desk. In an idea world I’d just the cable tray.
@RLfilmz
@RLfilmz 3 ай бұрын
@@ChrisWilmshurst that makes sense. It would probably cost you exponentially more for all the little cable extensions necessary to make your setup work like that.
@ChrisWilmshurst

Well, I'm glad you found this video useful in making a decision. You're not going to be disappointed in the slightest with the printer. The p1s has a good upgrade path which essentially brings it up to an X1C!

Great video..only thingno would add is to the bitbwhere you talk about the ams and bbu lab filaments. One shpuld know and keep in mind that bambu still uses tape to hold the beginning of the filament on to the spool and this will cause complications with the Boden tube's when a spiil runs out.
@ChrisWilmshurst

I’ve not experienced this personally. Maybe I’ve got lucky with my spools, but my pla and pla-cf I’ve used has gone all the way to the end without any issues. Thanks for the heads up though for everyone else.

Usually pots have holes in the bottom for draining so that roots don't rot as a result of overwatering, unfortunately for a desk pot especially of that size holes seem a bit difficult, to implement (maybe a second compartment in the bottom of the pot?), but yeah, the lack of draining is probably why your plants are overwatering, maybe changing the plants to ones that can actually stand a lot of water on the soil could be better, but you'd still need to be careful about how much water you add :P

Do you have any secrets to printing in PETG? I recently got the Bambu P1S and things were going great with PLA but then I decided I wanted to use PETG since from what I read it seemed stronger and I got it as 100% recycled plastic which was important to me. And unfortunately I very quickly ended up with a clogged nozzle. Two attempts to unclog later and I’m still not able to print. I really want to print desk setup items like in this video I guess what I really need now is unclogging secrets if you have any 😵

how do you know what type of filament to use?
@ChrisWilmshurst
@ChrisWilmshurst 3 ай бұрын
It entirely depends on what it's being used for. If I want something strong and rigid I'll use a carbon fibre based filament or petg. for small items like the aux jack, button holder I'll use PLA. The plant pots I Used petg-cf as I didn't want to risk them leaking water everywhere. The best thing to do is look up the properties of the filaments, bambulab has an amazing example on their website of what filaments are good for.

Bambu labs A1 on sale. very nice also i see you have a levoit air-filter beside you FDM x1 carbon, is it reducing all the fumes smell or is there some left you can smell??? 1 minor mistake, from my view - You need to add in the print cost in filaments , like if you don't know the price, how to know if you want to buy or print, If you don't have any printer yet.

Hey! Thanks for the kind words. You are going to absolutely LOVE the printer, I really want another or maybe the A1 as a backup! Regarding location and health... Its setup in my room (i sleep in the same room I work). the printer itself has a decent level of filtration with the carbon filter and I never print with the door open. Obviously its not 100% full proof, so I have a air filter with a HEPA and Carbon filter which is designed for a room maybe 5 to 6 times the size of this one. Its sensor hasn't picked up any particles today while my 6 hour print has been running. There are currently no smells either. But ultimately it comes down to what you are printing. So i'd recommend picking up an air filter with hepa and carbon filter if you're worried and always have a window open for good air flow.

I was using what I had, it’s also not that much more expensive. Tinmory do a really good cheap petg-cf that’s always on sale. Also, with petg I’d have to thicken the walls to avoid potential leaks of water

Honestly i get the video is sponsored by bamboo but this feels a bit over the top. And i like bamboo and think they're great for newbies into printing.

Those IEMs aren't the best for gaming, if u wanna stick to the same budget then the Kefine Delci AE would be great. If u want something in the upper budget range the Mangird Tea Pro would be so much better.

Thanks for stopping by. Yes it is Sponsored by Bambu Lab, yes. but the 3d printed items shown are still good. Don’t be a downer because the video is sponsored. It still provides value to people hence the fact it’s got over 100k views in less than a month…

@@ChrisWilmshurst Respect for responding to this comment! I’m sorry, but I’ve already watched a lot of material on KZbin, and I’m tired of the sponsored content. The truth is, your channel has potential, and for that, I thank you - you’re alright. Apologies if my first comment was discouraging toward your channel; that shouldn’t have happened.

@@Vilkh3m No need to apologise. Any criticism is helpful, even if we disagree. But I understand where you are coming from. Sponsored content can come off as being bias or disingenuous in some way. Thats why if I take a sponsorship for my content it has to fit the following criteria. - the sponsorship is not intended to mislead my audience - there are no sponsored reviews - this is to keep integrity with myself as a content creator and you the audience - sponsorships are solely to help me create content that I think benefits or helps you the viewer - I won't take a sponsorship or product from any brand that I personally wouldn't buy myself. Hopefully this clears it up for you. I appreciate the time you take to write the comments and check out the content, but I actually asked BambuLab for this sponsorship and they provided the printer and filaments for me to create this video. I like their products so much I now have an A1 Printer as well. My advise would be to think of a sponsorship as a way for creators to keep creating without having to resort to cheesy clickbait titles and bad practices to get views. If you look at my channel you'll see that I post hardly any videos in a year. So if I make a video it's because it's something I wanted to do or something I think can help people. If a brand wants to sponsor that video and they makes a product I'd use I would 100% accept it. And because of this rule, I reject offers daily for products and paid sponsorships :) As I'm typing this I'm printing things off with my bambulab printer. So be sure that I love the products, but from a viewer perspective try and focus on the designs shown and if you like what I'm saying about the printer, go grab one yourself if you're looking.

I see you using carbon filled filament. Nathan build robot found that it leaves carbon strand in your skin when manupulating the print. You should seal the print before handling it.

Always remember, carbon fibre filaments will deposit tiny carbon fibres into your skin each time you touch them. "Nathan Builds Robots" made a great video about this.

If you're gonna make an ad for bambulabs just make an ad man, don't disguise it as content

Dude. It says sponsored by bambulab right at the start and the description. Of course it’s going to advertise the brand. It wouldn’t be sponsored otherwise. There is zero attempt to disguise it. It’s a video showing off the bambulab printer and how I used it to improve my setup. Thanks for watch as much as you did though 👌

You cant even design two cilinders sections with a cut and chanfer the sides ? my god man, cad is not that difficult. You can often get a much better solution if you design it yourself or tweak a downloaded model a bit, if you go into 3d printing with "i am only going to use models online" you are going to end up with a lot of things that dont quite fit what you wanted
@ChrisWilmshurst

What the hell is this in reference to? 🤣 I’ve designed small items for niche use cases for myself plenty of times. This video is to promote the bambulabs printer and things that I’ve found that suit my setup. Only a foolish person would waste time on designing something from scratch when there are plenty of models online which are available for free and easy to modify in a slicer or fusion/sketcher.

Im good, I don't want to waste filament printing off a grid, to then print off even more stuff. Underware looks cool, but it's not practical for my needs.
