Cancun is safe, especially Hotel Zone & resorts. It's lot safer than many cities in the US. I was in Cancun Jan 2023 & spent majority of trip in downtown area. Never stepped foot in a resort. Was only in Hotel Zone 2x to visit the free public beach & than went back to my room in Downtown area. I also don't do the "private transportation" and got around just fine. I took that same bus, the R1 red color bus, 4 min walk from my hotel the bus stop & R1 took me right across the street from the beach enterence.

I also did a few things that would probably be frowned upon and "not recommended" by the safety experts but I never felt in danger. I'm not bragging or saying you should do the same thing(s) but just pointing out that sometimes the narrative given isn't exactly accurate. Cancun is probably one of the safest places in Mexico and probably in surrounding countries as well.

got back just this past weekend during spring break, stayed at the Riu Cancun which is in the hotel zone and 3 min on foot from coco bongo... I never felt in danger or anything at all, there were police and marines present but interestingly i didn't really see them as they were 'behind the scenes'.

We do not sadly. It was before we started any of this. We went the first week it opened so there were a lot of kinks To work out! The beach water isn’t great there

Yeah, we’re going to Isla Mujeres twice on our trip to get the beach experience. Haven just fit our “style” and seems to be a very relaxing place to be. We’ll be using excursions for our “excitement” 😂

The video.shows part of what we call low season November December specially Christmas new year is high season then January is very nice February and then high season starts all over again on til.september and October it's very nice temperatures are really comfortable if you don't mind some rain . And as longest you stay in the hotel zone it's safe plaza del sol like says they sale all kind of souvenirs like if you visit market 23 but safer. When they videos about places they never advice you about hurricane season cancun has six month hurricane season starts jun untill November Wich will be wear to have a hurricane in November. So most active months July August you don't want to spend a vacation during a hurricane.. If you don't want to have a vacation with spring brakes avoid coming they really get wild

Well for 1 there are waaay too many people around for something bad to happen an nobody sees it and 2 the hotel zone is primarily (in my opinion) is where they get the $$$$$ from that whole entire area survives off of tourism, and they are DEFINITELY NOT gonna ruin that golden opportunity, I spoke with many drivers there and they love tourism because they get to see an speak and sometimes interact with people from all over the world, and they do NOT want to get booted out of the hotel zone, now I will say THIS I've been thru the coco bongo area but never stopped in to see what's the vibe, it's always straight back from either a excursion or? A restaurant to the hotel and speaking of restaurants, since you are a a party gal next time your back try " TORA" restaurant, that place be jumping all night great awesome vibe, if you like stone crabs then there's lorenzillios, awesome food there, an then there's rosenegres which is next Door to toras, they have a nice selection an their whole entire presentation of their food when they bring it to you draws alot of attention, let's just say when me an the babe was.there I seen a waiter pushing what looks like a bull on fire down the isle to someone's table and I'll just leave that right there and let your imagination take you there lol....I'm not to fond of playa an riviera maya, not saying it's bad , one I'm a mosquitos magnet an 2 I don't like to feel stuck there an can't get off to look around, and it costs way too much to take a cab into town an back that's why I mainly stay in the hotel zone, close to the airport an things to do in town when you wanna get off the resort.....the end sorry for the long speech 3 days noches :(

4:18 that bus right there - R1 goes to Downtown & Hotel Zone. That's how I got to the beach. A 4 min walk from my hotel room in Downtown to the bus stop & rode that bus to the beach enterence.

Mexico is a very dangerous country as marked and flagged by the US State department as the violence and cartels are rampant throughout the majority of the country but what makes Mexico so appealing to most US visitors is because the hotel zone and other tourist areas are in fact so safe, kinda odd for a country with as much violence and gangs but the tourist areas are run and dominated by large global hospitality and hotel companies and for them to operate and be successful, the tourist areas are not targets for gang violence... The cartels do not target tourists because they know its bad for business and the big companies and brands would immediately pull out if Americans and other tourists were in fact getting hurt or killed... so on one hand the country has some of the most dangerous inland cities closer to the US border but the coastal ocean cities like Cancun and PDC are very safe, probably as safe if not more than your average US city which today has alot of crime and drug use...Mexico is almost exclusively dominated by large organized crime gangs and they are sophisticated and don't harm or hurt western tourists vs the US has alot of street crime, just general lawseness that is being conducted by a handful of individuals in each major city. Cancun is very safe but again that's as long as when your visiting your following the laws and acting correctly, for most people visiting they would not realize the huge disparity between how safe the resorts and hotel zone are and contrast that with the violence seen in many other far away cities and towns, Acapolco used to be a world class destination until it was overrun with gangs and violence and now hardly any outside tourists go there.
