What a fun and interesting video! I love how printed solid is able to use 3D printing and laser cutting technology to meet a need for the average consumer who may not have the time or resources to learn on their own. I think it is really cool what they're doing! Thanks for the inside look!

"Ghraphalon, that's a neat name." That and not being finished squeezing Sir Layers-a-Lot when the host moves on, just gives you a real "Will Ferrell in Elf" vibe here Which isn't a bad thing. Why the huge slot in the enclosure at 16:20 ? Honestly I'd much rather the PEI sheet be a little smaller than the build plate. I don't know what to use to the overhang without leaving a tiny overhang on the edge radius. Using the wet application method it's easy to place it properly.
@Drandolph19766 жыл бұрын
Check out Joel recent video on 5 tips for building an enclosure. The slot is to all heat to escape so you dont overheat the printer
@BenRyherd6 жыл бұрын
@@Drandolph1976 You also need a slot so that when the X gantry is all the way at the top of the Z travel there's room for the filament to move back and forth which is why it's a slot I'd guess. If it was just for heat they could do any number of patterns on top and if it were just for letting filament in on the moving path of the extruder it'd be a thinner slot.

What a impressive group of seemingly very average people though doing extraordinary things. They blend in so well with the regular public, that it would be somewhat impossible to realize that they are so innovative without reading the logo's on their shirts, and even then, they seem like everyday common people, I'm having difficulties believing that they are not people and are life-like droid robots. Some of the best 3d printing and automation ever seen. #TheFutureIsNow

Hey Joel, I'm considering next year, buying a 3D printer. That said, I'm indifferent between the Prusa i3 MK3 and the Creality c10 series. Mainly because of the size vs practicality vs overall layering smoothness. I understand a lot of people rely on these printers but mine would be more or less a small hobby, maybe etsy worth. Strong maybe in both directions at that because if it takes off like no tomorrow I'd make something of it otherwise I just want to make action figures and toys I really wish I could get my hands on with the cost of one of my hands since there are more than quite a few. I do enjoy doing my own 3d models as well although I just figured out how to model using Autodesk 3ds max. Any recommendation on either one?

for $3,000-$3500 I would recommend you buy an assortment of different 3d printers. Start with Creality CR-10 ($300), and after that buy a different 3d Printer with unique features. I have many different printers and wouldnt want a $3k printer as I really has no added value.
