I've been working in ArchViz for almost 5 years now and this method is not suitable in most cases. When you have building with 200-300 windows, different type of doors etc. etc. it is just easier to model as editable poly, so you don't have to deal with booleans. Moving door in edit poly is as easy as moving it in boolean, btw. The only real advantage of boolean in max 2024 is some props modelling, furniture modelling, when you have to deal only with a single object. It will indeed speed up the process. Nonetheless, useful video.

Yeah, and don't forget topology. Corona displacement for example really doesn't like faces, that have elongated triangles. So in the end you would still need to add another edit poly on top and manually add edges to avoid displacement artefacts if it's a brick facade or something similar.

I would have to agree on that comment. Editable poly is the way. And more over since the release of their new extrude system, you can create holes pretty fast too with no vertices to weld.

I have been working in 3DS Max for a long time and the safest option is to use editable poly. The Boolean option can be used in some initial stages of modeling, but it is definitely not a method that gets the job done.

It's not possible to model/edit operands? Only option is to work on instance that has to be created prior Boolean operation? Or am I missing something?

i try not to use boolean too much because i use to have many bugs with. Maybe now it's fixed for good? How about ProBoolean?

I use the retopo modifier after done booleans in 2024 it takes care of all that nicely. still learning it but it really does a nice job

Such boolean openings have no proper connections to other edges of mesh. When you export it, for example, to Unreal, they may cause shading/lighting errors.

start to pronouce correct things. is not called boolan! read and learn.
