I have only gotten communication from the attorney office out of Illinois that has been representing to me all this time. They notified me about week & half ago of the company Archer & that they would be reaching out soon with next steps in the process. Yet, they still have not expressed any info on the possible amount I would be getting. I honestly from what I’ve read throughout these comments expect anything over 5K-8K really. That seems to be the breakdown everyone keeps bringing up. I have 10% tinnitus as well was diagnosed that way back in 2013 after getting of active in 2012. I remember sending the lawyers detailed information of my disabilities & hearing loss issues/ proof back in 2018/ &19. However, if that’s all that I get IDC to go Opt-Out & pursue separate litigation it’s not worth the headaches to fight them separately with this. That’s just spinning wheels in the mud for years to come. I’m a 100% P.T. & been since 2018. They can have the rest I’ll just take the small blessing & keep working on other things financially in this life.

Thank you for these updates. I filed my claim in early 2019 due to being issued the plugs and subsequently diagnosed and service connected for tinnitus. Glad this is finally coming to an end and hopefully it sends a message to other contractors.

Thank you for the info, Judge Rogers have dismissed thousands of cases and the law firm that 3M assigned to me wanted 40% of the award and they didn't do anything. If you guys filed good luck because even the litigation piece is written to exclude any future litigation or claims. So basically 3M is paying law firms more than the injured service members. Folks, this by definition is a scam! Reached out to congress, two law firms, and the VA. No one will help.

Jeff, I am a Claimant in this 3M Lawsuit, I am slotted to receive $16K after all Legal Fees have been distributed the Legal Team gets over $7,000 and I am left with $3,400, while I don’t deny that the Lawyers haven’t earned their money but is this standard practice that Claimants receive less money than the Lawyers. I don’t deny that they deserve to be paid but if it’s 250,000 Service Members and the Lawyers are due to receive some $7,000 per 250K member, that Math just don’t seem to be Mathing!!!

That is something you need to take up with your lawyer. Perhaps there was a Medicare, Medicaid, or Tricare lien. Contact your lawyer for a breakdown.

The only reason attorneys are saying this is a fair settlement and we should take it: 1) It gets them paid multiple times sooner, without having to go to trial on each case. 2) It will help clear out the cases for the judge. This is not a fair settlement for life-long injuries and it appears that this is just a money game at the expense of each military member's injuries. The sad part is 3M played the game on them, then they played the game on us. If my attorney uses this tactic on me, I'm not hiring him for any future claims and I will spread the word.

Jeff, I’m pretty sure you remember me, I’ve been subscribed to your channel for over 2 years now and made sure to like and comment on all your videos related to the 3M lawsuit. I feel like my attorneys firm is telling all of their clients to take the expedited payment option on this settlement. I’m just a bit concerned they’re recommending that for their own benefit and not their clients. They recently sent me a letter in the mail that was obviously sent to ALL of their clients in this settlement. The letter says to accept the expedited settlement option. However, I’ve been deemed a “Level 5” with most severe hearing loss/damage. My last two audio exams I had multiple readings over 65 decibels (on both exams). My acoustic reflex assessments came back “non responsive” in my right ear. My word knowledge in my right each was 57 and left ear 70. I sent in tons of medical documents from my PCP, audiologists, walk in clinics, and emergency rooms showing years of pressure issues in my ears, pain, ringing, hearing loss, etc. My diagnosis are: 1. Mixed conductive and sensorineural hearing loss, unilateral right ear and left ear, with restricted hearing on the contralateral sides. 2. Eustachian tube dysfunction 3. Tinnitus, severe, bilateral hearing loss, sensorineural I am wondering out of all people, why they wouldn’t recommend I go the deferred payment option? I called the other day and I spoke to an attorney who works at my attorneys firm and he said, “your paperwork was reviewed and we determined the expedited option was best for you”. I asked what they took into consideration and he didn’t have an answer. I asked if they knew how many points I would get if I went the DPP option, he had no answer outside of, “email us a request for this”…my attorney was supposed to call me today after a meeting and never did. I’m just concerned my attorneys firm has so many clients that they haven’t really dug into a lot of our files/medical documents. I’ve probably sent in 150+ medical documents and most are relevant. Any suggestions?

This is a tough one. The problem in these kinds of cases is that the larger "mass tort" firms generally churn paper, and are not looking to litigate or delay anything post settlement. This is not limited to the 3M case-many other mass tort cases are like this. The only real advice I have is to communicate with your lawyer, and indicate that you want to try for the deferred program. They should do a call or Zoom with you if you ask.

Long story short they had my retirement date as 2019 and were using an audiogram from 2018 to complete my 3M allocation packet. I actually retired in 2021 and the audiogram I did closest to my retirement was through a civilian doctor and it is much more detailed and my decibels are much higher…now they’re going to do a recalculation and we will go from there. I feel much more confident and clear minded on the situation now. Also, I brought up the EIF to my attorney and he kinda laughed and said that info Archer put out has caused a nightmare for attorneys and clients lol they’re excited to assist me for that though

Yet, 3M has set a requirement that the attorney’s must get 98% of the plaintiffs to agree to the settlement. So if 2% or more refuse to settle, there will be no deal. Myself, I’m opting out. I have been forced to wait this long, I’m going for a FAIR settlement.

Yes I'm pretty sure, from what I read. Also zelle is a cash platform made by banks. USAA uses it. It's the way the banks were able to have a platform like cash app or Venmo. But to make sure their clients and users money was safe. It's also insured by FDIC. At least theasts what I think USAA told my wife. Don't take my word on that last part, have to look it up. But Im pretty sure she told me that. But as for the first part is yes.

If you hired a lawyer, that lawyer expects to be paid his or her fees and reimbursed his or her costs for filing your claim in court, as well as for obtaining copies of your medical records.

Greetings to all veterans, For me it is incredible that this case was created for those of us who received damages from 3M and that, those results were supported to be to compensate the veterans. How is it possible that now that the case is won, the lawyers are the ones benefiting from the permanent damages that we the veterans received. In what way we could unite ourselves and let us be heard on this nation? I think that together we could let everyone now how unfair this process has been. The lawyers were never and are not the victims here. They were not the ones suffering permanent damages. We, the veterans are!

I was told I was dismissed because I didn’t register when my attorney had my address my email and my phone number I was told this a month later this isn’t right what can I do about this? I suffer from hearing loss vertigo tendinitis which took place when I was in military I’m 100% vet. I gave them access to my military records.

I just got done speaking to the Russo firm, they are taking 40% and the courts are taking 9%. I thought anything dealing with disability to veterans you could only take 20%. We should start another class action lawsuit on the corrupt attorneys and Judges. What the fuck.

That's probably not too far off if everyone gets an even cut figuring there are between 250k and 300k claimants. Figuring at 300k split the math and it's just over 20k per person before lawyer fees and let's not forget Uncle Sam will get his piece as well. Take 20k give the lawyer their 40% and the IRS their 33% if they treat it as a windfall which face it they probably will. That leaves you around 5k to 9k depending on how the IRS taxes you

@cbrn10. There is an attorney disclosing payout information on YT and based on some of the responses, that's probably where they are getting the info from. Not related to this video though. The attorney said there were tiers of $5,000, $16,000 and $24,000. It would all depend on the level of the injury. For an example, $24,000 would be tinnitus and severe hearing loss. I'm just going to wait to hear it from my attorney but I have to admit that my guard is up on this issue.

This was supposed to be a case by case basis and not a class action...call it what you will...in my eyes this is a class action law suit and the only ones winning are the lawyers and judges. 98% of us have to agree or no deal....from what I have seen it looks like no deal. I put an offer in on a home and I was outbid by an attorney who who was working on this lawsuit , kind of bothered me a bit because we loved the home and he outbid us by 65k last minute pretty much. I he said “thank you for your service” after explaining how “awesome” things are going to get for “you heroes” 😂 Tbh it felt like he was telling me every possible subtle FU 😅
