Several years ago we went 8 days without power because of an ice storm. I was appalled at how some people treated the linemen and rural electric company because they didn't get their power on as soon as they liked. It got so bad Sheriffs Deputies had to assist the linemen for their safety from threats. Once they made it to our place it was around 11:00AM on the 8th day. Me and my wife did a head count and delivered grilled hamburgers and potato chips to all 5 of them because we figured they were hungry. They were so thankful and so were we. Much respect for all linemen that are out there in subfreezing weather or lightning hitting all around them so that we may enjoy electricity!

I was fortunate to have an earthly father that was always guided by our heavenly father that taught me at a young age, that in any situation like this, that it could easily be me making the mistake and to always remember that and how I would like to be treated. So, it really goes back to scripture and do unto others... As I've gotten older it has become easier just to chill out, it's just stuff, it can be replaced or repaired and it aint worth gettin your boxers in a bunch. I've also gotten to where I can't stand to be around short tempered men, and if they're Christian men, I'll show them scripture regarding that and if that doesn't work I'll gladly part ways with them. Good words Chadd.

Great truck talk Chadd. Most everyone I know could take a lesson from it. We could all be more forgiving and gracious. Thank you for your testimony and witness. I’m retired from an electric utility company after 33+ years. I was a distribution lineman, service man, local rep and supervisor. I worked a lot of service restoration from thunderstorms, ice storms, heavy snowfall and accidents like the one you talked about. It’s hard dangerous work and you have to keep your mind on your business all the time. I loved working in the field. It was very gratifying with a great sense of accomplishment. I’d have to say for the most part people are very grateful and happy when their service is restored but there are alway some who wouldn’t be happy no matter what’s done for them. Thank you for recognizing the linemen. Keep up the truck talks!👍

I was totally cool about it and just said, these things happen, no problem, I'll just change out that line of wire. A little bit later we were all talking and I told him, if I was 30 years old I'd probably be pissed. But now at 56 I am mature enough to see how much better things like this can be dealt with and everyone is better off for it. JB

Pretty cool that something great came from an accident. Good reminder. Good mindset. If anyone experiences an accident on their property to their property, you could file a homeowners insurance claim, some things even under a renters policy as well. Its not ideal to file any claims but it could replace the generator. It also helps to forgive quickly when they are really sorry.

My mom would always say "you are always capable of blessing someone regardless of the situation, and likewise with forgiveness. Forgiveness is not a weapon to be used against someone else, it is the exact opposite, it frees the soul from troublesome burden when it is meant from the heart". The key is meaning it from the heart.

Wow, that is crazy and cool. At church / lifegroup this week, we are discussing Truth and Grace. And a guy asked specifically how we actually approach people about God and sharing God with others. And I said well you can't just beat down someone with the Bible. But rather thru showing Grace and Truth, an opportunity will usually arise, and the Holy Spirit will move you to act. And that sounds like exactly what happened here. Pretty cool. I will share this with him. ❤
