Imagine having to have an entire engine replacement!, they're becoming like Hyundai. Toyota took a big hit look at their Financials. The newer corporate executives are going in a different direction to satisfy all these new climate change "save the planet" initiatives. Meanwhile, they're churning garbage like twin turbo tundra and the Tacoma and asking for 70k.

Great job with providing us with detailed instructions on how you removed the engine from the truck. As a former Ford technician, I found it extremely helpful to use a jaw and eye swivel when I removed engines. I would place the jaw and eye swivel in the middle of the chain. Using a jaw and eye swivel allowed me to rotate the engine if needed and made the job easier.

@@TheYotaChannel Thank you. It’s good to know. I asked because I saw a video by heavy duty diesel mechanic. He makes comparison reviews of full size trucks. The Channel is “Getty’s Garage”. While reviewing new Tundra his comment was that new Tundra engine is sitting too far in the tunnel to have a proper access to the turbos without lifting a cab. He probably meant in comparison to F150. There are multiple videos of diys replacing turbos on both 2.7 and 3.5s right on their driveways. I also saw a video where a Mazda mechanic had to replace a turbo on a CX9 for which Mazda does not require to drop the engine. However in real life without dropping it it’s next to impossible to reach all the components using regular tools, forget about seeing what you are doing. So he just dropped the engine to be able to see and do it right. I always buy new and keep my vehicles for 15 + years. Swapping a turbo is the last thing I need.

I just picked up my 2022 Tundra Platinum from the dealer after the recall engine replacement and the recall fuel line replacement. It took about a week, from Monday 1/6/25 to Saturday 1/11/25. I took a test drive with the shop manager and discussed warranty for the new engine. The recall engine is warrantied for 12 months/12, 000 miles. I still have the balance of the original drive train for up to 5 years/ 60,000 miles. The truck now has about 37,000 miles. The only thing I noticed when I got home was the red park light on the dash does not come on when it's in park. I'll call the dealer about that on Monday.

@Kbattig Are you joking? Toyota is only warranting the new engines for 1 Yr/12,000 miles? That is a flat out insult. At a bare minimum we should be getting the balance of our power train warranty plus 30,000 miles since most of the failures have occurred between 20,000 and 30,000 miles. What is the point of proactively replacing the engine if we lose the initial warranty by dropping in a new one? This is truly disappointing.

How different is the process between the regular iforce to the iForce Max?
@TheYotaChannel14 күн бұрын
The iforce Max is very similar. There is no starter to remove, and no torque converter bolts to remove after removing the starter. And under the hood, you will have the inverter there as well and some hybrid power wires, and an electric compressor, while the regular iforce has no inverter and has a belt driven compressor and no hybrid power wires to worry about.
