This is great. I like these informative videos you put out on practical things. The first ever video I saw from you was the one will a diesel heater run on waste oil and I subbed immediately. I can't imagine how cold it gets over there. I'm in Southern Louisiana and I cannot take the cold. Thank you for another nice upload and stay warm.

I just installed one of the vevor heaters outside my RV yesterday. It's connected to a car battery and the vent runs through a hole into the RV. It gets fairly cold here in Memphis in winter, and electric space heaters were killing me with $400 electric bills. This heater is a game changer! It will chase me out of the space on high, and even on the minimum setting, it keeps the space nice and warm. Mine draws about 20 amps running the glow plug on startup, but that only lasts a few minutes then it drops back to low draw to run the fan. It looks like mine will run at least 18 hrs on low, so it should be an excellent money saving solution to my heating. I am also planning to run the exhaust through a long coil inside another pipe filled with sand to harvest the wasted heat. These things put out a LOT of waste heat through the exhaust...it's not that hard to capture.

Yeah all you really need to run these is a old car battery and a battery charger, something we all have around anyway.
@ManiacRacingАй бұрын
@@7eis Normally people use the RV battery, but mine is parked and non-running, so I had to add my own. I left the unit outside to reduce fire hazard from the hot exhaust and because I'm lazy. Lol!

For the wiring, you don’t need any adaptor or anything? Just attach the two leads to the car battery?
@ManiacRacingАй бұрын
@@muhammaddelen7769 Yes. I also have a battery charger to use every couple days to keep the battery charged.

Working on cars in the heat > in the cold. Cost efficient heaters in a garage is the 🐐

The glow plugs are what draw power, more than 3 amps. The glow plugs also run at shutdown cycle to burn residual fuel. And now I know it draw a few amps while running.

Nice!! This is the content that got me on your channel.

make coolant circulating radiator and hook those exhaust gasses to warm that coolant

I used electrical metal conduit for the exhaust on mine. The flex tubing that comes with the heater, and then the metal conduit from there out. Easier to run a long distance and it’s the same size.

You should get an old oil furnace off marketplace to play around with. 10 times more heat output and already ac voltage

Would a regular AC to DC converter (110 to 12v) work for a single diesel heater?
@7eisАй бұрын
If you figure out the ratio of waste oil to old gas to diesel I'm all ears. Work at a mower shop so have essentially unlimited access to the first two, would love to heat my garage like this for winter projects

lol add methanol (yellow bottle heat fuel additive) to your veggie oil. i think technically you need some sodium hydroixde to complete the reaction, but its litterally how the make bio diesel from waste fry chip oil. the glycerin will fall out of solution in the bottom which is the junk part which gels up and clogs all the lines. im thinking you would need an automatic stirrer like one of those magnet stirrers and just leave it in the gas tank stirring for like a month without lye (sodium hydroxide), should convert some of the waste oil directly to biodisel by seperating the 3 strands of fatty acid chains off of the triglyceride chain. way cleaner burning. heet yelow fuel additive is like 1-2 bucks. add one bottle per gas tank dont owrry about ratios
@notquiteaАй бұрын
what ratio gas to oil did u use?
@notquiteaАй бұрын
i also heard starting it with kerosene (or i guess gas) then switching to waste oil mixtures will give you a better chance of it not clogging up
@notquiteaАй бұрын
also end with a pure kerosene cycle before you turn off
