Matt, I’ve been watching your rebuild for shit, ever. Your “stick-to-it-ness” is unbelievable. You’re massaging an 1/8” here and there and I can only guess that my ‘74 was built on a Friday afternoon before a long holiday. Keep with it!

Great show, Matt! This was really timely for me! I am a few weeks away from my week of Bronco floor panel welding-in madness, and this helped me think about some issues I know I am going to have. Even though I am am only replacing panels where I have absolutely had to, I have lost some structural integrity at my passenger "A" pillar. Seeing full detail of what you are doing is helping me to formulate a plan. I am going to email you to get copies of those pictures and the one pager of measurements. I am going to need those!

I was taking measurement of my body so when I start I have a reference and it was freaking me out that the bottom of my door post were wider than the top and I heard you say that after like the 7th time I watched this... thanks for mentioning it.

Looks absolutely awesome. Way to stick with it. You have major guts for taking this on. Where were those kick panels from?

I got them from Tom's Bronco Parts but many vendors get their panels from the same suppliers (like the door post issue). Of course this may just be an issue with my bronco, I have no real way of knowing.

Not sure if I replied. My stock pillars are mangled and I wouldn't trust my new one since I'm not 100% confident I got my floor dead level. I do know that my stock kick panel is 21 1/4" to 21 3/8" from the floor to the top flange. Hope that helps.

Dude...amazing perseverance in the project...My '70 does not nearly have those gaps you want. Have a quick question...did you ever think about purchasing a full steel body from those companies that make the entire tub w/ doors? Don't know how they work in "real life" applications. Just a thought.....Keep grinding my man...Keep grinding...going to be a sweet ride.

Thanks, and yes I considered a full tub. I wanted the challenge of building a car, but it was more than I'd bargained for. Unless you really have more time than money (in which case I'd question hobby choice) then you should totally get a "done" tub or splice in good metal onto the old tub. Either is better than what I'm doing.
