It was unsettling enough to have seen this damage, but then watching the rescue planning, and then hearing that there were additional tornado warnings (several) in the area with the possibility of already hit areas being hit again....this morning was a real gut punch......and I am in Ohio where we just had the 50th anniversary of the Xenia tornado and the 5th anniversary coming up of the Memorial Day tornado that nearly hit downtown Dayton.

How horrific. Can't believe there weren't more deaths. I think about people's personal possessions like jewelry, heirlooms, pictures and expensive artwork or collectibles. Gone or in someone's yard two blocks away. There is something to be said for burying valuables, because the very grass was left undisturbed. But there is a method to doing it, so it doesn't get moldy in it's containers. But burying stuff means selecting a site like the corner of your back slab so that if a tornado comes through and takes the house and the trees you know exactly where your stuff is buried. There are also safes that are bolted to a cement floor that aren't going anywhere. Everyone should have a place for their things that are safe no matter what happens.
