🎥Street Food in Tibet - Ultimate Tibetan Food Tour: • Street Food in Tibet -...
👕T-shirts and caps: migrationology.com/store/
Thank you to www.travelchinatibet.com/ for hosting me on my trip to Tibet!
High Altitude Tibetan Food - Today we drove from Lhasa to Yamdrok Lake, where we had the honor to eat at a local family home. At 4,500 meters in elevation, there’s not a lot of plants that grow, and so our meal consisted of Tibetan barley, yak meat, a few green onions, and a radish soup. It was a hearty and warming meal, full of love, and a pleasure to learn more about Tibetan culture. #Tibet #YamdrokLake #streetfood #villagefood
Yamdrok Lake, Tibet - First we drove to Yamdrok Lake, and Kambala Pass (4,990 m (16,371 ft) for the viewpoint. The view of Yamdrok Lake for the first time was breathtaking. It’s a sacred lake in Tibet, and the colors of the lake look different depending on season, time of day, or even where you see the lake from. The actual bottom of the lake, on the shore is more like 4,500 Meters in Elevation.
High Elevation Tibetan Food - Tsampa (roasted barley) is the staple and main food of the Tibetan diet. It’s nutritious, and grows at a very high elevation. For lunch we had butter tea, barley dumplings with yak meat, radish soup with yak meat, and a type of momo bread which was formed into cone shapes, and fried and steamed in an iron griddle pan. The entire meal was simple, but delicious and very hearty and warming - mainly carbs, and yak. The entire village and setting next to Yamdrok Lake made it even more spectacular.
Karola Glacier View - Finally to end this day in Tibet, we continued to Karola Glacier, passing a section that was almost 5,200 meters in elevation. Highest elevation I’ve been to, and the entire drive was unbelievably beautiful.
An amazing day, great people, delicious food, and heavenly scenery of Yamdrok Lake.
Thank you to Travel China & Tibet (www.travelchinatibet.com/), they sponsored my trip to Tibet, and they did an amazing job to cater to the exact things I wanted to do. Highly recommended when you visit Tibet.

@@inxsbcn Honestly Oliver, I think he’s genuine, remember also, it’s not all about him, he’s also promoting that country, people and most important the food. So some of this food around the world, has different 👅 and he has to eat it and presents it to the world as tasteful, he basically telling the viewers to come and visit and eat. Great people, great food. Once I saw him eating uncooked lamb balls , I know that those things can be eaten especially in the Caribbean but not uncooked. Yet he made it seem like a piece of cake. I don’t think I would have eaten it raw like that, but he makes it interesting, he’s witty, funny and seems genuine to me. That’s why he gets those high ratings and views. Even if you didn’t want to watch , he just pulls you in with that 😊, There’s a lot of learning from his videos.

@ageoflove1980
@ageoflove1980 4 жыл бұрын
@@monikyut There are alot of Tibetan refugees all over the world who left after the Chinese occupation. Most of them are not strictly forbidden to return but will probably get into alot of trouble with the Chinese government when they do. For example the Dalai Lama is not recognized by China and openly supporting him in China is a bad idea. The Chinese see him not only as a religious leader but also as a political leader who could cause opposition to the Chinese rule of Tibet. Obviously opposing the government in China is not allowed.

Sander Fitzwilliam could not say/write it better. As a Tibetan living in the diaspora (Switzerland) I am currently a member of the Tibetan Youth Association in Europe. Its main goals are to promote and preserve the Tibetan Culture, having social responsibilities across the Tibetan Society and organizing political actions towards a free Tibet. That is one of the reasons many Tibetans will not get an visa to visit Tibet, because their activities in the exile community worldwide is regarded as „separatist/terrorist activities“ by the Communist Party of China.

Monicute Long story short, them people who left are mostly considered as disloyal and mainly as rebels and upon their return they would possibly subjected to communist rehabilitation centres. Tibetans have lost their freedom and are displaced in their motherland.

@@youarefatmia is it like the state run by oligarcas and the mass imprisonment when you practice a different ideology? Or the genocide or control of thought or destruction of culture, theft of land, internment of children, complete presence of surveillance. And when you are critical then that state run by oligarcas conduct campaigns to destroy anyone whom has another thought different than theirs. #freedom

@Malik Ahmad They certainly have their problems. The feeling of having a foot on your neck is certainly still a problem in that region. The place that he visited has that feeling and the police state doesn't help. Once your freedoms are taken away, the oppression becomes normalized and those rights are very difficult to get back. It is a beautiful place and the people that haven't been relocated or pushed out are strong and resilient. Malik, your 'what about' question takes away the struggle of the people who are resisting the oppression. It is quite a shameful one. Look at the fight of the people in the South. They have been fighting for decades and their current struggle has been months of resistance. This is what has happened to the people of the place he visited for more that 50 years. Social media was not there to document it. All media is controlled. You can see that Mark had a handler that guided him to where they allowed him to go. It may not seem obvious because he is a diplomatic and talented person. As most don't know the Muslim community in the North West of the region are sent to so called re-education camps against their will. They are stripped of all of their rights and shamed and tortured into following the rule. Imagine being disappeared just for speaking out. Facial recognition following you at every point of your public life and check points dictating your movements. This is what is still happening in many regions of the world. So these places that you spoke of have their problems and they need to be addressed. Though they are certainly incomparable in today's world. I hope people will learn to understand and empathize with what is truly happening. #freedom
