🎥Ultimate Moscow Food Tour: • Ultimate Russian Food ...
😃Dmitry: / valueofthemoment
👕T-shirts and caps: migrationology.com/store/
SUZDAL, RUSSIA - Outside of Moscow, we headed to the Russian countryside in search of delicious home-style Russian food and especially for a chance to try the Russian steam bath, known as a banya, or sauna. #Russia #RussianFood
Big thank you to Dmitry from Value of the Moment (valueofthemoment.com/) for taking us around Moscow. Check him out for tours in Russia, especially in and around Murmansk.
Pechki-Lavochki - Russian countryside lodge - This is where we headed first, an amazing rustic lodge in the countryside, and known for its farm and banya (sauna). We started by cooking lunch, which they had prepared some local Russian dishes, including a soup of cabbage and pork cooked in a hot fire oven, and a selection of pickled wild mushrooms, along with a selection of Russian vodka and drinks. The food was delicious!
Next we went into Suzdal to do some sightseeing, visiting some churches and museums of heritage. We visited the Museum of Wooden Architecture and the Suzdal Kremlin, both of which were impressive.
Ogurets Restaurant - Suzdal, Russia - Next we had a snack at Ogurets Restaurant, a restaurant that translates to cucumber. The food was pretty good, but not as good as the home-cooked food we had before.
We returned to Pechki-Lavochki, the Russian lodge, to eat Russian pancakes and some desserts, and finally for the main event of the night - Russian steam back, or banya (sauna). It was amazing, and there was just enough snow to bake in the banya and then roll in the snow!
Thank you again to Dmitry from valueofthemoment.com/

Been mostly in Moscow but also visiting some other small villages, and especially for a sauna. Me and my Russian friend, almost everytime rented a banya outside the big cities, and preferabbly the ones with a lake connected to the banya. What else was so intereisting with this video, was all the traditional Russian food in Suzdal. Thank you so much again.

Paul V. And it’s a shame to hold an entire people responsible for their government or political problems. Yet people do it all the time. As a US citizen we have the same problem with people thinking we are all the same as our politicians. The majority of the citizens don’t like that the US feels the need to get involved in everything & have their grubby paws in all the dirty deeds of the world. But our votes don’t mean as much as ppl like to think they do. Politicians are the same everywhere. In the US we just have the illusion of choice.

My husband and I were married in a Russian Orthodox church in Washington, DC 8/16/86. Our son was also baptized in the same church in 2000. Remember as a child the Russian artist who came over from Russia to paint the inside of the church. The tall ceilings all the bright colors and detail. Was a while ago but think it took them a few years to complete. St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, Washington, DC. Embassy row and the Vice Presidents home are both with in walking distance. Also down the street is a beautiful Greek Orthodox church. Won't be long and they will have the Easter/Spring bazaar. Time of the year to get your pierogies, stuffed cabbage and other Russian favorites you don't get all the time. If your not Russian. Really miss my grandmothers home made pierogies & stuffed cabbage. Thank for sharing, TaTiana

Just found your Russia videos with Dimitry! These brought smiles to my face (Dimitry is a gem of a person! On my list of travels now to do so with him as a guide!) - and fond memories of the foods I grew up with with my Hungarian Grandmother and my Father. That's because we use sour cream in EVERYTHING also. Real chicken paprikash being my favorite. Many similarities with Russian foods (and many differences) but since I am half Ukrainian also... I could relate with so much! Sour cherries are huge in Hungarian cuisine also! Uggghh! My favorites of all your videos are your ones with Dimitry - watched them more than once!

I'm so pleased to se how similar some of the Russian dishes out of their kitchen is to what I remember from older rural generations was eating here in Sweden, the slowcooking cabbage soup, sourcream, the potatoes with dill, potatoes with utter, pickled fish and vegetables, the lingonberry lemonades, very salt fish or airdried fish, mushrom on the menu, the panncakes but we eat them with all different jam but instead of sourcream we have whipped cream. We did the Sauna to best temperaturen 90-110° Celsius or för weak hearted amateurs 70-80° Celsius, if you have some stones on top of the heater you put water on it to get it steaming and to make it smell marvellous you pour some beer on it then it smells like fresh baked bread inside the sauna.
