4.6 Throttle Body Upgrade - Best Cheap Panther Mod? (Under $35)

I got this 5.4 Throttle body off an F250 from the local junkyard for under $35. Definitely a step up from the zip tie mod. This noticeably increased throttle response. I know people will ask about fuel economy, and I do not know yet since I just did this. Before installing the new throttle body I got about 22mpg regularly. I will try to inform everyone of how it's affected as soon as it's clear.

@@mooboo6255 I know there's a kit for it and it would be a fun project. What's the benefit over fuel injected?

@@arod762 everything. I did mine about 4 years ago, and overall I find more power and fuel economy (depending on a 2 or 4bbl carb). My 4.6 was a 1990 in a Lincoln Town car, before I got 19-23 on the highway 15 in town and after still getting 25 on the highway 20 in town. But there again, depends on the lead foot😉

@@arod762 just don't use holley junk. Use a mastercraft 2150 2bbl for starters very easy to install. Just look for an old 460cid out of a 70's LTD. The throttle cable should hook up fairly easily. The distributor from summit.

@@arod762 134k I only drive about 16 miles a day when driving back forth to work and home.

I take that back only 8 miles a day. Stop and go traffic.
