If you place foil in the bottom it stops the hot air circulating. The basket has holes in it for a purpose.

🤦🏻‍♀️This was ridiculous. Aluminum will scratch as much as, if not more than sponges made to scrub without scratching. Also, you cannot line the basket with a piece of aluminum (or anything else for that matter) unless you take time to put holes everywhere in it for air to circulate. Otherwise you’ve just turned your fryer into a countertop oven, and you are not “frying” your food.

Just pug dish soap hot water in it. Airfry for 5 minuter. Rinse and the baskets done. Also any grease round the dlement just wipes off .
