That's pretty awesome, that 5 axis vise is working out well.

This is awesome! My shop has a 4th axis, and no one knows how to use it. The guy who's been a machinist longer than I've been alive can't even program for it yet.

I can, better than this guy :)

@@kuei1215 How can I learn? I just got an email today saying that the SainSmart CNC machine will have a $250 4th axis. It may be worth the $250 plus the $500-$700 for the tiny machine to get my own machine which programs like the big ones do.

@@phil2082 DO YOU KNOW ANY CADCAM SOFTWARE?
@phil2082 Жыл бұрын
@Kuei 12 Fusion 360, but I've not learned how to program for 4th axis yet. I'm sure I can spend time trying to, but it will cost me a lot of time.

The HRC has an rpm of 138. Would it be possible to collet a 10mm diameter rod and turn it to 7mm Diameter from an end to 25mm in ? Would it be possible to put threads on said rod?

nice. what's the red workholding system you use and how does it holds? dove tale?
@GRTLRS8 жыл бұрын
Yep, it's a dovetail fixture. Similar to the Raptor Workholding one.

Do you need to use the spot drill when drilling the aluminum material? Also, what speed do you use for tapping aluminum?
@KenFoulks8 жыл бұрын
No, not usually. Unknown speed (in the video).

don't listen to this moron always SPOT drill before drilling
@mountcustoms54565 жыл бұрын
Use a self centering drill. Most Carbide drills have this.

2nd carbide. No need with carbide 135-140 degree drills
@scottknight13014 жыл бұрын
@@lucifersonsco.230 You know a lot of carbide drills Don't recommend spotting before drilling right? Especially in materials like stainless and titanium because the spotting angle can shock the drill and chip the cutting edge.

what is that copper brass tube along the right side of the spindle?
@GRTLRS9 жыл бұрын
dragonfly fab It's an air nozzle for dry machining or blasting chips or coolant off the workpiece. A solenoid hooked up to the M21 optional relay delivers air. Program it on/off with M51/M61 codes.
@atomkinder679 жыл бұрын
GARRETT LEWIS Oh that's gold, we did the same thing, although made a manifold that bolts on with the Pcool. Same M51/M61 though. Modified our HSMWorks post to output for 'Air' in the coolant options.

I wouldn't be posting this, it doesn't run well and its quite inefficient with tool paths and strategy.
