I made this counter as a part of time counter in my project but it starts of from a random time/count instance (e.g 2, 4,7) every time. Can point out any mistakes I may have made and also note that it was exactly like this one I cross checked several times now.

I tried this circuit with the smaller capacitor, but it doesn't work at all not even a single led is working. Could a faulty capacitor be the reason? also I noticed there are a couple of wires on the 2nd IC connected different from the schematic, Why is that?!

If someone had issues with random ON states, that can be easily fixed by the swift increase of potential on SET pins of the IC. That can be done by adding capacitor from positive (~100n) and resistor from negative (~100K Ohm) or if you have many ICs, to avoid repeating the same for all this can be done with NPN transistor switch that has 100nF cap feeding the base to positive and 100kOhm resistor lowering base from the negative. After that, collector to the emitter to the negative (via another 100K Ohm) will be opened for the short time, which can be used to set all SET terminals of all ICs to the HIGH for a brief moment at the startup.

Area = width x height. It is Area = 1 x 4. If make it Area = 32 x 32 or even bigger value in width and height. It become PHD design tool. Picture figure work. Just run it with binary bit left shift or right shift counter. It is use to form picture.

7474 is TTL. 74LS74 is again TTL, but uses transistors with schottky diodes for fast switching. 74HC74 uses CMOS logic, which has MOSFETs instead of BJTs in the chip, which leads to much lower power consumption. The 7474, 74HC74 and 74LS74 work the same in general. If you want more information, read the datasheets of the chips you listed.
