This video is an in depth review of these inexpensive 4 channel RF remote control transmitter and receiver. I look at quality of build, different modes of operation, and how much distance it can transmit. It can be used to control anything that you can conceive of that can be controlled with a switch. I hope you like it, and please feel free to comment and let me know what you think, or if you have had any good or bad experiences with this. Thank you for watching.

Great video. The unsoldered pins are on purpose. They let you install identification jumpers so multiple controllers won't interfere with each other. Open the transmitter and you will see an equivalent, unsoldered section where you put in jumpers. Yours work because there are no jumpers in either your transmitter or receiver. You should install jumpers because the floating pins can pick up noise which could result in wrong codes. Thanks for the very good video. It was really well done. Thanks.

i was just about to say this myself, although if im not mistaken they are tri state address pins and so floating is not an issue?. there are actually 12 address pins on the chip which would give us a choice of 1728 channels although you can only easily solder 8 of them to either low high or floating some how i think 512 addresses is enough anyway. was a very useful video but ehobby guy should probably read the data sheet on the IC chips in the future.

@@CraftyCrow Hello , I have recently purchased one of these modules and indeed a full row of pins are unsoldered. Do I just go ahead and solder all the pins for it to work? Thanks John :)

Reading down someone mentioned that you have to solder pin 8 to enable the custom channel setting. Thay might be the detail I was forgetting before.

Thanks for this. How do you mean install jumpers? What method would you use for this.... just pick two pins and put a wire between them, and then copy this in the controller to match?

Hello Paul, Just found your channel Those un-soldered pins are meant to be like that thats the coding part of the chip pin to earth or pin to positive is one code etc it does say in the data sheet Starts at A0-A7 as you can see on your data sheet at 7:47 showing all those pins open circuit So what ever you connect on the Tx you have to do the same on the Rx for it to talk to each other these are great just pull the Rx antenna wire straight up and you should get 100m + easy Cheers Brett

I think those address pins are tri-state. The traces above and below are high and low. You can connect to high, low or neither (floating) to get a unique address code to match the same on your receiver.

Nice video, I tried connecting transmitter and reciever as shown in the video. But communication was not possible between tx Rx. Is there any soldering needed for unsoldered pins. Please any one suggest me sir.

If you want use more than one, you have to get a different frequency. If you use the same frequency both receivers will activate. If you want to use 10 you would need 10 different frequencies. I don't think there are that many available. Thank you for your question, I hope I have been helpful. Thanks for watching.

Ron Jones is correct. Did you NOT notice that on your controller there is a row of holes and two solder lines that you can tie to high or low identical to the unsoldered pins and two solder lines on the recover board? ? ? Apparently not as you would have known that that this is CHANNEL SLECT OPTION. With this you can add a byte to the transmitter data so you can have multiple transmitters not interfering with each other. Try this; set your transmitter to 0 high and set receiver to 1 high all other pins to low see what happens? Obviously nothing as it will ignore the data you told it to. Persistence of vision is what is keeping the LEDs "on" to your eyes and two fast for your camera but to an oscilloscope it is a very different thing.

Hi, I bougth this receiver and transmitter to run small motors(3-6v), but when I connect them, they won´t move. I checked the output pins with volmeter and it showed about 3,3V on D0-D3 and about 4V on VT pin. Do you know where could be the problem? Or how to make the motors run?
@ehobbyguy8980
@ehobbyguy8980 6 жыл бұрын
Michal Matějka the output current from this board will not be enough to drive a motor. You can use the output to trigger a transistor or relay with another another power source for the motor. In my video on relays I wire a transistor to trigger a relay. It may be a place for you to start. I hope this was helpful. Thanks for watching.

It is not normal for the receiver to turn on and off like that. The only time I have seen behavior like this is when the receiver and transmitter are too close to each other. Try separating them by some more distance, and see if that makes a difference. I hope this was helpful. Thanks for watching!

How do these products make it to the market without Quality Assurance? And this is end of 2019 meaning that this problem hasn't been addressed yet by the manufacturer. No wonder that I also bought a LCD screen that didn't work even though it had Quality sticker nicely spread over the screen!

You should probably put annotations in the video showing what you have since learned about the soldered pins not being soldered on purpose. It will save your viewers wasting their time soldering what they believe to be a mistake and unfairly giving poor feedback on ebay, which is what I nearly did. Sucks that they didn't supply a battery with mine, and I paid double what you paid in 2019.

For programming the frequencies? These are paired 4 channel transmitters and receivers. He is not receiving collateral freq spillover. Each channel signals just that channel on the on off ice. On the T ice, the channel pressed stayed on until a sequential channel aS pressed, then off went the previous channel. If there were collateral freq bleed, it would happen when he pressed "A", and both A and another UNPRESSED channel would signal recieved signal.
