Working in commercial airfreight, I know just enough about planes to go "nope, not for me!", but I can appreciate that others have the skills. 2. The scenery is beautiful. If it's the one at 4:30 that's _the_ Meteor Crater, aka Barringer Crater. It turns out there's never been a nuclear test in Arizona; the tests in the continental US mostly happened in Nevada and a few in New Mexico, Colorado and...Mississippi? Absolutely amazing photos and videos, that scenery is absolutely stunning and I cannot imagine how much better it is in person. I Don't think I would be able to be in a plane that small with my rather notable acrophobia, but that is why I am glad that you, and people like you, take such amazing photos and videos so that I can live vicariously.

lil trick I use during mag check is lean it out for 15-30 secs or so at the same rpm during runup then check again. Usually clears it up. If it doesn't, then inspect.

Awesome trip Xyla. That bit over north central Arizona, as an Arizona native, is absolutely classic. Glad you had fun and got there safe.

i appreciate you talking about density altitude. i came from rotary wing to fixed wing, and that is all we talk about now. i am learning so much, its a way scarier world than i realized.

I use to drive cross country, big rigs, for UPS. For a couple years we ran from L.A. to Chicago and went through many of the places you stopped. At Tucumcari we had to leave I-40 and run up highway 54 which took us through Dalhart. I loved being out on the road and seeing the sights, now thanks to you I have seen what all the places I ran through look like from the air.

At 61, I still want to make it to Oshkosh one of these years (don't know how many times I've said that). This video was very well done, I really liked the map overlay at the beginning, showing the route you were flying. The cameras worked out really well, showing some great views on the trip.

I enjoy your enthusiasm about flying you 140. I have only flown a 140 on one occasion to deliver it to a friend. I was based out of Oceanside Ca and I had quite a large number of different aircraft to fly. I owned an overhaul facility specializing in helicopters. I have only flown into Oshkosh and it was pretty exciting. I was in a Stagger wing Beach. They landed us so incredibly tight behind some pretty large aircraft and in front of some really fast aircraft. Nothing to worry about here! It was an incredible experience. Keep up the great attitude about flying. Not everyone can do it and even fewer can do it well. Best Regards Al

Great to see the aviation videos! I'm fortunate to fly into Oshkosh every year and camp under the wing -- most of the last 20 years, anyway. I've also flown from the midwest to California a number of times. Such amazing fortune to be able to do that! Looking forward to more flying videos.

It is fun watching you in your plane. It makes me miss my 1946 140 I owned in the 80's. Especially the low level flying and the non-paved landings. You have to do some back roads and gravel bars!
