I had to walk home from a friend in the middle of the night and i had to walk this dark road that has a large farm, fields and forest beside it. It was really pitch black. In the distance i noticed a huge black German sheperd dog and as soon as i noticed it it came running towards me at great speed. It made me freak out more as it came nearer because it seemed like at least twice the size of a normal sheperd. When it was i guess 5 yard from me i realised that dogs this big do not exist and i was genuine afraid for my life. Next second it stood 1 yard from me but not on the road as i was. At that moment (maybe because my eyes adjusted to the dark) i could tell that it was no dog at all, it was a very happy black pony that walked all the way with me untill its meadow ended. Never felt like such a fool, lol!

One time at the farm I grew up on, I was up late writing on my laptop, and had my window open to let the evening air in. It was really late, probably around three in the morning, and my window screen smashed inward. There was nothing on the other side, the screen just crumpled in on itself. I was too scared to close my window and actually got my mom up to sit with me. "The White Man" seems to be a classic elf or fairy. Not the Disney version. But the old European one. They were known for these bargains. Until the 1960`s farmers in some parts of Europe would put a mixture of milk and animal blood out at night as an offering to appease them. They liked meat and were often blamed for taking cattle from farms. They liked beer and would also take that. They were viewed as being very powerful and dangerously unpredictable. The Goddess Andraste, is supposed to have sent a white hare to guide Queen Boudicca`s army to London. Avoiding the Roman Legions on the way. This was because Boudicca had sacrificed the children of Colchester Andraste. "The White Man" story is very much "folk horror."

I don't know why, and it's 4Chan so it's even more sus, but this feels pretty genuine to me. It seems to me like the author really is just telling a weird story about his dad, and he really doesn't seem to even believe it himself. If it had ended with "And now I'm seeing the White Man dun dun dun" I'd be more suspicious. Whether the White Man was real or the dad was just hallucinating, it feels to me like these are real stories he told his son.

Just like everyone else in the 3 or 4 yr old comments, I am not feeling ok about this person incessantly insisting his late father is dumb. Especially when he’s not here to defend his name. A lot of smart people are stupid, they measure intelligence only by the type of intelligence they possess. If they weren’t dumb themselves, they would’ve long known that there are so many ways to be intelligent. Most of my most beloved friends aren’t those who are engineers or are academics, some don’t even have a healthy grasp of their native languages…but they are way smarter than I am in many ways; like they know how to make people feel good around them easily, or have healthy levels of empathy, or are psychic, or are really great at standing up for themselves, or are naturally self loving and honoring. I know a lot of super smart people who can do none of the things just listed, including myself, and I’m considered extremely intelligent by whatever standards they go by here Anyway lol yeah
Wow, that was such a great story! You really managed to bring it to life with the gift you have of storytelling. Thanks!

It seems like one of the spirit stories of the native tribes that use to live up there but i have yet to find a match. On the other hand even i had a run in of a ghostly kind. Nothing much to tell it was a night hunt i was listening for the dogs and all while i was walking i kept hearing soft voices and feeling some one of thing lightly touch my neck or arm. When the dogs finally did tree a racoon and i got to them both seemed to be on edge and kept looking behind me growling. Nothing else happened so idk but its far for the strangest story for that part of MI.
