My philosophy is if it's working fine, don't update, only update if there is a significant addition to the device features or app, or if you are forced to update! 👍

Just lost reverse after a firmware update. Dji now wants it sent in. Wasn't happy with tech support telling me a possible hardware or pilot error. It was 100% caused by a firmware update.

Yes, sounds like it. The reality is that since you can't roll back a previous version de the firmware, you just don't have any other option but to send it in. They have special tools on their end I suppose, or just re-flash/rest the firmware memory chip... or replace it altogether. 🤷🏻‍♂

I had a controller fail on my Mini SE. I was out of warranty but had purchased 2 years of Care Refresh which was still active. I was denied repair under refresh, and I was told only the drone is covered. I went to eBay and bought a new one for cheaper than the diagnostic fee and shipping would have been.

Really sorry to hear your experience. So frustrating! Definitely something not right with this latest firmware update. Having had no issues with my M2 performance or controller before the update, the following day after I updated I began experiencing problems requiring an IMU calibration. I was travelling in Australia and had been recalibrating the compass after lengthy distances, but was unable to fly until the IMU calibrated. This took 3 attempts and meant I missed photo ops. I managed to launch again but the hover wasn't steady and one of the motors appeared to be out of sync and it ran rough??? After a fourth attempt at the end of the day the IMU calibrated successfully and fingers crossed it's operating as it should 🤞 This however came immediately after the update and no other changes in conditions/damage/collisions etc. Not happy at the time but hopeful it's now resolved. All the best with resolving your issue.

I’m stuck in the Philippines until august and warranty runs out in July so I’m screwed. Rc won’t turn on no lights and won’t charge with any leads. So frustrating I’ll never update again but I’ve lost my whole 5 months in the Philippines filming what a let down from dji

I could never understand what Dji is trying to say when it comes to an Update ! What is "Fix Certain Issues" ??? Can't they tell us exactly what the new update does ?

Well the reality is that firmware updates tend to always fix issues, that's usually the primary for a (minor) firmware update to be published. Most vendors remain vague on what updates actually fix.

SOLUÇÃO: Abrir o controle e retirar o diogo que fica na entrada do plug do carregador, deixa sem e ta resolvido. Esse caso acontece quando a energia recebe uma carga elevada na hora que ta carregando e o diodo entra em ação como uma defesa e faz o papel do fuzivel que queima pra nao danificar todo sistema. Se quiser colocar outrou diodo no local pode, mas eu deixe sem.

Got the same issue myself, right after the update, so DJI have a problem here, interestingly though when I connect the controller to my battery bank it seems to work?

Weird although the battery/power control module seems to be independing from the logical fly module inside the controller. So it may infact still charge and react to be connected to a charger while not beeing picked up by a computer. i bought a dji mini 2 yesterday and when i turned it on there was a firmware update and while i was updating the remote the power went off it didnt turn on anymore

Sorry to hear... Did you try connecting it to a charger? Did it react in any way?

@@dronesandmore1977 nope spent 6 months in the Philippines with a drone that works but handset rc won’t turn on dead as a dodo. So pissed off lasted 8 months used 3 times. Very poor quality from dji
