I love this channel because it assumes a baseline for home cooking. It’s nice you just say “cook salmon”, I understand for beginners they might like super specifics of getting that right but that’d be like a cooking basics channel. This feels like a nice introduction to the basics of Japanese home cooking, and speedily and efficiently teaches..

Im always craving for that fried chicken skin with ponzu sauce at my regular Japanese diner. So awesome! May I ask which kind of ponzu sauce should I buy for that kind of dish? Many thanks!

Thank you so much! You can buy any type of ponzu sauce as long as it contains citrus juice. For example like this one: amzn.to/3qGhX9Y If you have more questions about ponzu sauce, please send me email or ask here👍

@purejapan thanks Sayaka :) If you might consider, I'd also suggest doing a video one day on types/brands of common seasonings and dashi powder you use. Usually when I shop for Japanese products I am spoilt for choice, and need to buy big bottles that will go to waste.

Thank you for your request, Claire! I will try to make that kind of video in the future :) And, for now, you can probably check my seasonings here! 👇 misosoup.site/toolslist/ Also, the brand of the dashi powder I use is Hondashi! Can you find the small packet of hondashi (or other Japanese brand of dashi is fine) near your house?
