None of you really get it. They need a working visa for a reason when they come in to Australia. If we let everyone come in to the country with or without a proper visa, we'd have all these immigrants walking around scratching their heads trying to figure out where to go now. We have this census that every household has to fill out to find out who is legally living here, and who isn't. If someone comes over here with a valid working visa, then by all means they will be welcomed here. The fact that they don't have one or they never applied for one (because don't forget you have to fill out an application form to apply for one-and I'm pretty sure that one of the questions would be if you have a criminal record, that would be the only reason they won't get accepted). The fact that they didn't apply for a working visa, makes you wonder what are they hiding? When we go into another country, we would have to apply for a work visa or a tourist visa to get into that country. It makes me mad when people say, "shame on you Australia" if you go to America, you have to do the same over there. So, it's got nothing to do with us as Australians personally, it's just the law. Enjoy the videos, Stephscheve ❤

This is how most countries are... they say the same here in the US... “oh if they would just come the ‘right’ way I would support it”. But what those people fail to recognize is the ‘right’ way is designed to be near impossible. I work with someone who is a PhD and has been on a visa over 5 years. They have been applying for a green card all that time, and still have absolutely no timeline for when/if that will be granted. If that is ever granted, they will have to take an additional 5 years to get citizenship. Until they can get a green card as the time they have been on a visa is not counted. Their visa limits them to working at universities which pay much lower than industry, and of course trying to get a better paying job is always a risk since their right to be in the US is tied to their current job.

For the ones who have a return ticket I’m guessing they somehow use it! But so many don’t have one and it’s one reason they’re getting sent back! That’s a lot of money for the Airlines…probably gets passed on to the other travelers!

I guess the episode with the Ukrainian shuttle bus driver was filmed before the Russian invasion of Ukraine. They would hesitate to send him back to a war zone, regardless. After the war started, my country accepted such a small number of Ukrainian refugees compared to other countries. Which is surprising, considering how many people live here, especially in greater Seattle area, who are Ukrainians.
