Good tips Tim. I was catching walleye over the weekend ever so slowly creeping a 3.3 on bottom with a ball head. You guys preach it, but it’s so important to realize how slow you actually need to fish sometimes. See a lot of guys say they’re going slow who clearly don’t get it.

Completely unrelated comment Tim. I've been throwing a glide bait and every one you guys have recommended since I started following u guys 2yrs ago. I caught my first bass on an S waver 2 days ago, a chunky 3.5lbr. I'd say what a cool bite but it scared the crap out of me being the 1st strike on 750 retrieves. The 7 3 MH Edge rod handled it fine and now I see what the fuss is about. I'm hooked. Thanks for all ur time on the subject. My great take away from this video is, to power fish the lake first, covering water to find fish, and if you don't, then slow down and concentrate of high percentage areas with the finesse stuff. Your words really resonated with me, as I can't tell you how many times I have gone and spent 75% of my time fishing an area with no luck, leaving me no time to see if there is more productive water. The only problem I have is my fishing partner (my wife) is constantly trying to fish a wacky senko, which cannot be done with the trolling motor on high.... :-( Solving one problem at a time.... Appreciate the video... Good content.

I love your informative videos...Those small 2.8 Keitech plastics work well down here in Australia...But with our bass down here I will even rig up a 1/4 ounce jig head with a size 1 hook...Since I manufacture my own tackle I make gear to suit my favourite styles. I will then thread on a 1.5 inch Charlie Brewers slider grub go down to a 6lb flurocarbon leader attached to a 4lb braid mainline on spinning tackle and finesse those big wary bass into smashing the bait in a slow retrieve with 10second pauses with a little rod shake thrown in for good measure...We don't have the same species of bass like you guys have but many of our techniques are very similar to yours...That's why I subscribed to your channel and love your presentation ideas...best regards from Brian. bjscustombaits Australia.

As long as your connection knot is tied properly, is there any advantages or disadvantages to using different brands of braid? Like is power pro as good as a more expensive brand?
@Halfstep20243 жыл бұрын
I know you’re not asking me whose a nobody but there is a HUGE difference in braid. Especially looking at power pro.. power pro is “ok” but that’s just it. It’s just ok and that’s all it’ll ever be. Trust me, especially with a bait caster to leader setup just go buy top shelf seaguar braid and I promise you, you’ll née buy a different brand as far as braid goes. At least until they get cheap and screw it up.. eve Rey single rod on my boat has 25lb seaguar braid to either a floro or mono leader depending on the rod and I love it.

@outpostjared78353 жыл бұрын

As a kayak fisherman I would really really REALLY like to know how you would decide on what few rigs to take with limited space depending on conditions, time of year etc. I live amongst natural lakes with almost no bank access and timber everywhere. Drives me nuts coming up with 3 decisions on the rods to take.
@fishingva99463 жыл бұрын
I kayak fish and normally take 7 rods.
@johnschroeder44123 жыл бұрын
I’m with ya my friend. I take 3 rods. I use a 1-3-5 or 2-4-6 power system depending on the water/weeds/time of year. 1 spinning rod and 2 baitcasters. I also just switched to the Edge boxes for storage. I am down to two boxes for all of my gear. The spinning rod either med(1power)or med/hvy(2 power)does all my finesse. My 3 and 4 power baitcaster does my light jigs, texas rigs and swim baits. My 5/6 power rods do my heavy jigs and top waters. It’s worked for me and makes me limit what I use and take. I’ll throw crank baits on the same rods depending on the weight of the crank. Good luck, hope this makes sense.
