I don’t think I talk enough. She hasn’t had many play dates or interactions with children her age. From birth to about 1, my mom kept her for me to work; however, my mom is deaf. I doubt my mom talked a lot to her. I’m so confused.

( not so) Funny my cousin’s kids first word was the F curse word my son made consonants and Da da and I spoke to him sang prayed in utero and then right close up to his face and I used several of the same words and sounds endlessly each day Ooh how I loved interacting with my son 19 years ago when he was a baby

my son used to say 10-12 words when he was 16-18 months then slowly he stopped. now he is 3 years old and now he started to speak again . but only 4 to 5 words..... what could be the reason???? why he stopped talking..... he used to see cartoons for some time. cartoons can be the reason? i am.so worried. m from pakistan.plz reply me.

Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. From my experience, children who are delayed in talking are often overexposed to screens and are under-stimulated. You need to cut down his screen-time. Please note that children below 2 years should not be exposed to screens at all and children above 2 years should only be exposed to an hour of screen-time a day. There are some things that you need to start doing and some things you need to stop doing from home, for you to see your child’s speech and language skills develop.
