For preppers concerned about supply chain disruptions and choke points, focus on diversifying your essentials and building a substantial stockpile. Stay informed on global events that might affect these choke points, adapting your strategies accordingly to maintain resilience.

@@stevehartman1730 I just read that 120,000 tons of coffee per year come through the Port of Baltimore. I'm going to be paying attention to the price of coffee at Starbucks. ☕

The Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse/accident has closed the port of Baltimore. This will affect shipping all up and down the East Coast of the United States.

Great video and many thanks. Two observations/addenda: (1) Straits of Malacca are FAR more important. ALL ME oil to China, Japan and the USA traverses the Straits. An Act of God or man there will immediately impact us in SIGNIFICANT ways; and (2) relatedly, the maritime route that skims the southern shore of Sri Lanka is a DANGEROUS and UNDERAPPRECIATED risk (I've spent time there). You can see all the oil tankers that have departed the Persian Gulf for the Straits of Malacca literally from the hotel shore. Weak local government and history of civil violence. An attack there is even more likely than the other Straits due to weak governance and security. Keep up the GREAT work.

I used to work in the sea port industry. Almost all canals, channels and port facilities need maintenance dredging. That's just a fact of life. There is an interesting point about the Panama canal however. The ends of the canal are controlled by Hutchinson, a Chinese controlled company. So, as long as it's in China's interest, the canal will remain open.

The Panama Canal was sold several years ago to the highest bidder. It is now owned and controlled by China. There was an international incident shortly after China bought it. They refused to allow a U.S. Navel ship to go through under our flag. They demanded the ship lower its U.S. flag under the flag of China. Despite orders from Washington to lower the U.S. flag to proceed, the Admiral refused to fly the U.S. Flag . They were eventually allowed to pass through without lowering the USFlag serval days later. But only because the Admiral stood his ground against China and Washington. So that choke point is tighter than you can imagine.

So in this day and age, as great as our nation is/has been, we are nevertheless vitally dependent on these few and far between, vulnerable, archaic means for a huge part of our material needs. That's very depressing. And worrisome. 😵‍💫😵‍💫🤔🤔🤨🤨

I think that Covid showed us very well how drasting supply interruptions can effect our daily life. Just thinking about all the metal shortages (may they have been real or artificial) and the inability to buy certain electric devices as a consequence. Things happening in Far East or Europe can and will directly influence the US economy and vice versa.

Covid did nothing but make us (my family) more self sufficient and hold up the middle finger to the globalists. It pointed out just how utterly fragile globalism truly is, as well as how easily that could be used against us. Even the grandkids got this lesson--which is a blessing, because that's the primary target for this globalism horseshit. One size NEVER fits all, it is never ever under any circumstances going to become such.

In the good old days, the U.S. pumped it's own oil, dug it's own iron ore, made it's own steel, and made products for itself. To keep secrets, you would lock things in a file cabinet, put it in a room, and post a guard outside. Imagine what happens to these pinch points during war and, what product supplies dry up here. Thxs fer the vid!

The Panama canal isn't just right for a terrorist attack. Its been controlled by chinese backed companies since the United States passed up management. Almost all the ports in central and south America are managed by Chinese companies. It would not take much to shut these ports off from our nation's use.
