Andrade should be safe for Silver - if she hits everything, there's no-one else who could realistically challenge her. The battle for Bronze should be an interesting battle. Based on past results, Shilese Jones is the favourite on paper, but there are many others who could challenge her if they hit 4/4. 4:50 mind you this routine was underscored too. 8.0 execution is v underscored when Simone, Rebeca, and Shilese are scoring 8.3, 8.3, and 8.2 in execution, respectively. If Qiu Qiyuan gets a DTY then I think she could snatch bronze if she was perfect on all 4 events

I don’t think she was underscored since she has many more skills than Shi, Rebecca and Simone have. And adding more skills for sure increases your D-score in connection bonuses but you are also more prone and risk more deductions.

@@gymnasticfan9148 olha eu ñ acredito que a rebeca acertará tudo, ela nunca fez isso, até agora eu ñ vi uma trave boa da rebeca depois do mundial, teve problemas 2 vezes nas paralelas, na copa e em jesolo no team final, as notas da trave uma piada, acima de 14 com tanto desequilíbrio que vc ñ leva nem a sério, ñ arriscou nenhuma vez a sequência de layouts, ou seja, ñ tem segurança nenhuma pra mandar, eu tava esperando ver essa sequência já no all around dela, pq vai ajudar muito, rebeca ficou 0.4 acima da shilese, só isso👌🏻 e a shilese tem muitos upgrades na trave e principalmente nas paralelas, rebeca eu ñ vejo nada, oq dá uma certa vantagem a ela é o cheng (que antes pegava 15.100 fácil, mas caiu um pouco a nota no mundial) o problema pra mim é a rebeca com as mesmas séries de anos atrás ainda manter inconsistências, ela pode tirar 14.3 na trave como tbm 13.100 como foi no mundial, 14.6 ou 14 no solo! 14.7 ou 15.3 no salto kkkk, 13.8 ou 14.7 nas paralelas, tá entendendo, ela acertando é dela kkkk, mas qualquer vacilo é tchau!!

@@otow27 Tá, e quando a chinesa acertou tudo? A Rebeca pelo menos já fez competição de Individual Geral que contou com erros mínimos, a chinesa sempre tem erros grandes. A construção das séries da chinesa é pior ainda nesse quesito, ela pode tirar um 15 na trave mas um erro besta dependendo de onde for, leva a nota dela pra menos de 14.

No place on the podium has EVER been certain. Simone has never taken it for granted that she will win the AA crown, she just HAPPENS to have won every single one that she has contested internationally. She has done so, not because she has depended on ANYONE to fall, make mistakes or outright fail, NO! She has done so by doing her best which has always turn out to be better than the other competitors on the day.

I think others to keep an eye on are: Melanie DJDS, Kaylia Nemour, and if she heals up nicely, Jess Gadirova. I'm also excited to see how Nina Derwael does! I don't know that she's likely to end up on the podium, but I feel like she could really crack the Top 5 if she's healthy and hits.

I absolutely agree with the first three. The chinese girl should have to compete extremen well to have real options. I would also take into account Elsabeth Black, Alice D'Amato, Melanina de Jesús Dos Santos and Flavia Saraiva. They could be near medals if they made a good competition. Sabrina Maneca-Voinea is due to have her summun at Los Angeles 2028 , but could have a little chance in Paris. Not for the medals in the all around, for she needs to increase the difficulty of some of her rutines and improve the execution.

I would also mention Alice Kingsella and Manila Exposito. The first has been giving credit, but the later became european champion motivated for competing at home or because she is in a real good moment. Note that all of her difficult scores are not very high.

It's a pity the injuries of Asia D'Amato, the Gadirova twins, Nina Derwael, Elizabeth Seitz and Szofia Kovacs. I wouldn't bet on them in case they participate, though they could've been good contenders. It depends on how they recover, but all the injuries are serious for a gymnast, especially veteran gymnasts and almost at the end of their sports career.

We’ve already seen what Shilese can do, both in the US and internationally. First, Gabby and Suni have to qualify. I’m still waiting to see them compete on all 4 apparatus cleanly and with enough difficulty to be a contender in the all-around in the US.

I’m just saying I have a feeling that’s not what’s gonna happen. Bet against 3x Olympic champions at your own risk.. all 3 have already proven what they’re capable of on the biggest stage. Shilese has never been in that position yet of being a frontrunner for trials and the Olympics. She will have to show her A+ game. All the best to all the girls

It would be amazing to have 3 Olympic AA champions on the US team, but it’s not going to be easy. Jade and Sloane will also have a shot. It will be exciting to watch for sure!

If it all came down to DIFFICULTY ! Biles has 1.7 over Andrage , who has 1.6 over Jones . Qui Qiyuan has .4 (4 tenths ) over Jones but has to bring it on the day. So many possible deductions. Will Artistry really be a factor ? Judges say YES . 02 Artistry bonus for Beam and Floor could add a significant 04 to AA scores but cannot close the gap .

The problem that MOST challengers have had over the years is INCONSISTENCY. Rebeca has the skills to mount a really good challenge on her best day but she NEVER seems to be able to string a whole competition together consistently to do so. She, Shilese and any other WAG would have to perform out of their skins, while hoping that Simone make multiple mistakes along the way to have a chance. The beauty about Simone though is that she is the ONLY one who one can REALISTICALLY expect to INCREASE her difficulty while maintaining HIGH execution.

Simone possesses enough of everything in order to be able to compete under THREE DIFFERENT codes to date and STILL win. That is way, way, more than ANY other WAG could boast, especially since it was believed that under this new COP that is favoring 'artistry' more than before that she would not be so successful.

If we look at this country by country we see America's Nastia Liukin , Romania's Anna Porgras or Russia's Victoria K omova , they are examples of willowy balletic gymnasts who will have their fans forever . Simone Bile's style is continuing to get more beautiful and engaging ALL of the time she's competed . i dig her style and can't help smiling when I watch her on floor . She's unique and wonderful . An old fossil like me still remembers what it was like before the current points system. Every Gymnast did beam work without EVER holding on to the beam with her toes . That would have taken her out of the medals instantly . It's no gymnast's fault how FIG sees it. Most of todays Artistic Gymnasts are probably glad that Artistry is a bigger factor again , they're Artists after all .How much further could difficulty go ? There's no end to Artistry and originality and that's often what attracted them to begin.🙂

She was not born when there was the open code so to speculate about what she would have been able to achieve then as oppose to now is futile. Simone was born for the OPEN CODE. Her enormous talent and ability is meant to be displayed in the fashion it is now so that we often have to pick up our mouths from on the ground, shake our heads while at it and say thank God we are alive to see such magnificence.

Rebeca is much better in vault (1 point almost) FX (0,5l and better on beam (0,3) Shilese is 0,3 ahead on UB That is far from even match

Btw, Shilese was not performing at her optimum either. She was still having issues particularly with her back from the vehicular accident in 2021. She said she was only 75-80% fit and as such I expect her to closer to if not 100% now.

The Russians couldn’t qualify a team since they didn’t take part in 2022/2023 worlds since they were banned and individually no Russian athlete has participated in world cups or the European championships in order to qualify individually at the Olympics (like, for instance, Nina Derwael qualified through world cups). So it’s done, there is no way that any Russian will participate in the Olympics (at least as far as gymnastics is concerned, no idea about other sports)

I tried to use the most realistic scoring potential for Paris. There is no way Rebeca will get a 15.1 nor will Qiu get a 15.5 on beam, just trying to be realistic. Not in favor in the USA I like to keep things fair ❤

The margin of her victory over Rebeca at the WC was her THIRD LARGEST victory in all of her SIX AA titles to date. Do you think that is CLOSE? As I said under another video and in response to similar sentiments, Simone has gotten you all too accustom to these kinds of margins that you all don't think it is special but trust me IT IS. ONLY Simone has done this ROUTINELY to the opposition. Prior to 2015, AA titles were decided by mere tenths and hundredths but Simone has changed that so much so that people like you think that the AA Final last year was close with respect to the title itself when in reality as someone noted, it was a BLOWOUT. As the OP said barring another 'meltdown' the gold is Simone's but ( my thoughts) there CERTAINLY will be a fight for silver and bronze.
