As a KZbin influencer, you're a role model for fishing safely. I'm glad that you model the wisdom of not being on the water during thunderstorms. No trophy or check is worth one's life.

Hey Justin! After watching hours of your feet pedaling, I figured out how you can beat Daphne the dog on those electric bikes. Just lay on your belly and point your feet behind and you’ll lower the drag coefficient so much, you may even catch air as you pass Daphne!😂

Hey there Justin, I’m not sure if you’d but interested but a guy named victor from ifishtackle makes 1-1.5gram jig heads specifically made for small lures such as a trout magnet. Real sharp, thin wire and fits the trout magnet perfectly since it has a size 10-12 hook. It would definitely help with casting distance when downsizing to match the hatch! He’s also native to Tennessee I believe

Got a 6' and a 6'9" St. Croix panfish ultralight use the 6 in creeks when wading and the longer one in the kayak in more open water. Use 6 lb dia braid with 4 ' leader of 4 lbs floro . Can cast a lot farther with the 6-9 rod since its longer.

If i kyak fished and ran the tourney trail with you guys, I'd have you're back on the Monday tournament. No wake to be agervated with would have to be a big pluss in a kyak or it would be for me i will not even entertain the idea of it as fun as it looks for the fear of flipping over. I know kyaks are way more reliable and stable today v/s what i have had experience with but I'm just clumsy enough to flip one lol.

great video. a tourament on monday, you practice on the weekend. l grew up trolling with my dad so, l like it. two things 1 have you ever thought of going to 15lb. braid on your trolling reels. 2 having a second ultralight with 4lb. test to throw 1/32oz. stay safe.
@KayakCatfish4 ай бұрын
I don’t like the lighter braid. It seems to get more wind knots. It would be a good idea for me to carry a second ultralight rod with 4lb line.

You could match that hatch with a fly rod, but I warn you, white bass on a 5 weight fly rod is an addiction! It’s the next step on your ultra lite fishing. I catch all my gills for Flatheads with the fly rod. Try it, I double dog dare ya.
@sideshow453 ай бұрын
Man you ought to try some deep fried blue gill. Its the best eating fish there is.

Peddling is good for you unless you have arthritis in your knees in your ankles. Then it sucks; I tried riding a bike after my accident, but end up with arthritic ankles and knees. But thank goodness for trolling motors and my bluesky boatworks hybrid kayak that has a pedestal seat like a bass boat.

Just a suggestion for trolling but maybe try some mini trolling divers they’ll look like either a disc or a torpedo. For the tiny glass minnow lures.

I don't know about skip jack because I haven't caught one but the white bass fight like hell on a ultra light. And to hear you say your going to fish for Channel Cats with Chicken is unreal after you said you hated them and wouldn't use chicken lol Never say Never.

I live in Ohio you can use any fish for bait as long as it meets the size limit of the body of water you’re fishing in.

Hey Justin, I have a question for you. Where did the term horse and the fish in come from.? I know I have heard of my whole life and I’m like 68 years old never been able to figure out where it came from though. Do you have a clue? All right thank you

With a Monday tournament, you would spend twice as many days in boat traffic because of the prefishing.
@KayakCatfish4 ай бұрын
That’s a fair point. Personally, I would rather deal with boat traffic during pre fishing than when there is money on the line during the tournament though.

@douglasmedlin71593 ай бұрын
Large jaw fishermen fish for the fish not the fight. I mean look at most of their setups big stiffer rods higher poundage lines. On frogs or flippin they maybe using 50 to 65 pound line to catch 2 or 3 pound fish. That's a lot heavier than you use for catfish. If you use the same ratio where people use 2 to 6 lb line to catch bluegills the bass people would use 15 to 30 lb line.
@KayakCatfish3 ай бұрын
I could understand that if they were fishing somewhere that had potential for trophy bass. Around here a 7lb bass is considered a trophy and only a few of those are caught every year.
