I like the Seattle trade. I know Wright is called a bust but there's a chace he turns a corner and is low risk because he's a minimal cap hit. Larsson is a big mean right shot defenceman and $6M in cap space is key. I'm not sure Marner is going to risk a production drop off in Seattle during a contract year though. He probably nixes that trade.

I'm not sure what to make of it. Everybody and their mothers wanted Kadri to leave the town. I've always liked Kadri. I would have kept him. Felt strongly that it wasn't a good idea to trade Kadri. I would've given him one more chance. I'm not sure what to do about Marner at this point. However, Tavares would be my first choice. Player getting older and having a large cap hit.

Marner to Utah for Guenther+ please! These proposals seem pretty weak considering the closest comparable trade would be the Eichel deal, which was Tuch (at the time - young roster player with promise), Krebs (was top prospect in the system) a late 1st and a 2nd

I don't see Marner waiving to lose in Calgary. Their media is as insane as Toronto's. Seattle. Maybe, I don't think they are close enough. I could only imagine him waiving for a contender or a team that he views as being him away from being a contender. I would suspect that Buffalo would have a better chance of getting him to waive than either of those two.

If Marner agrees to be traded I would like to see this trade... Marner to Nsh For Saros & either Schenn or McDonough Leafs need a proven #1 goalie nomore adequate goalies Saros is what would help them & a dman from Nsh. If they get Saros they still have cap room to make more moves... The Leafs cannot go with Woll he is too injury prone he needs to be the backup if he can stay healthy enough to even be a backup. Nsh has Askarov they can part with Saros.

As long as the Leafs are in the same division as Florida, Boston and up coming Detroit & Buffalo, the current roaster will not go any further then the first round. Roster change and a coach change must be assembled with not just making the payoff but going further in the playoff. Good luck management.

Personally if a trade was made that sent Marner to Seattle. A player on a team that has as good a defense as Carolina for the next 4-5 years. And the Leafs offering a player that like no one else in the league can skate around whole teams and drop the puck on anyone's stick with 3 guys chasing Marner. Just like Seattle's G.M. use to do. No body knew how he did it or how to stop him I personally could see Seattle go for a 100 point man his whole career, that scores 3 points a night. Not 4 points in 5 games.

Is Marner the only player not performing in the playoffs? what about the coaching, Marner has not played under a different coach since Babcock was fired, Marner is more mature now and what about having a coach that can completely change this player for the better? thoughts? You are saying marner`s value is high compared to some of these trades scenarios, personally, I would work very hard to get rid of Tavares contract instead.

Rielly has the point shot of a 10yr old. 11yrs to develop a point shot and one-timer. He isn't a top pairing d-man, all he does is pass the puck to great forwards and picks up assists. Since his 20goal fluke season, he has averaged under 8 goals a season. He has the lowest d-zone IQ on the d-core and brings no other element to the table but passing. He should never be on the ice in a d-zone faceoff. #1 d-man he is a #3 playing #1 and getting way over payed.

Why do people want to trade him for a goalie? Goalies are inconsistent year to year, hell, hellebuyck was god teir all season but got exposed in the playoffs. And no goalie will be as good as they would be somewhere else given our defense is bloody horrid. It's a top defenseman they really need.

4OA and Kent Johnson? You are delusional. Firstly, Marner is not waiving for Columbus. Secondly, Columbus isn’t adding Marner for one year for those types of futures. These may be the most homer trade proposals ever. You first need to consider whether Marner will waive for that team, secondly, you also are not factoring in the value of cap space. If you can get a team to take on Marner’s cap hit completely, that will negate to some degree his trade value. 4OA plus a very good prospect? Not happening.
