I wish we had money when i was a kid celebrating Christmas. My parents tried their best to get foods for us for the festivities, although we didn't have gifts. It was already a fesitivity having coca cola, bread and butter on the table for Christmas. Now that i am earning well and can afford Christmas festivity foods, but my parents are gone to celerbate it with them. But i know i will see them in heaven.

Greetings from Australia…. I’m Polish living in Australia. Polish traditions are very similar to Italian.with Christmas Eve festivities of all types of fish cooked differently. A real feast followed by midnight mass. Christmas Day a lot of left over food and meat dishes as well. All celebrations continue to some extent until the epiphany 6th January. We visit with extended families and friends. A lot of traditions come because of the Catholic faith. I’m sending a lot of love and good wishes to all Italians. My four children are also half Italian. ❤❤❤❤

Ciao Germana! Sono di USA. I find Italian language, music, and culture fascinating. I was familiar with many of these traditions from taking an Italian II course alla Università. Grazie mille per il video informativo e divertente! Ho un paio di domande. What board games are popular in Italy? Any specific ones that are traditional to play on Christmas? Ti auguro un buon Natale. Molti benedizioni! La mia famiglia è di Cuba. For thanksgiving, we eat traditional American feast with the family. For Christmas and new years, we eat Cuban food. 😂 But I like to buy a delicious panettone during Christmas time from the grocery store. ❤️I wish we had more traditional Italian bakeries in my area.

Ciao @Healthy_Techie!😊 Grazie for this interesting question! There are many board games we play at Christmas! One of my favorite is 'la tombola', 'il mercante in fiera', and also card games such as 'tressette' and 'sette e mezzo'! These are the most popular, but you can also find people playing 'il gioco dell'oca', and many others! Buon Natale anche a te e alla tua famiglia! Un caro saluto. ❤

Ciao Germana! In Latin America, influences from other cultures are seen in the Christmas celebration, some countries have adopted the stuffed Turkey of the American Thanksgiving Day. Another case is the popularization of the consumption of Panettone since the mid-twentieth century in countries that received Italian immigration in a massive way like Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and others like Peru where, although it did not receive immigration in a massive way, the Italian culture did influence the eating habits. Given its international popularity, efforts have been made to obtain a Geographical Indication and a Protected Designation of Origin for this product. In my opinion, both panettoni produced in Italy and those produced abroad are equally valid. Let's celebrate Italian culture! Merry Christmas! Ciao Germana! Buon Natale!

Natale con i tuoi e Capodanno (not Pasqua) con chi vuoi. The day of gift-gving to children was always 6 December (San Niicolo') in northern Italy and the Epihhany in central Italy (especially Rome) and most of the south. Moreover, in Italian homes Christmas decorations were put up and the tree dressed on the morning of 24 December and taken down the morning after the Epiphany. Finally, as a 78 yr old Italian, I recall that attending Holy Mass ad midinight was central.
@ItalianwithGermanaАй бұрын
Ciao @tavuzzipust7887! 😊 Thank you for sharing these beautiful memories! Regional differences truly show Italy’s rich culture. As for “Natale con i tuoi, Capodanno con chi vuoi,” there are also variations like “Natale con i tuoi, Pasqua con chi vuoi.” Like all sayings, there can be variations in some words, but the main meaning remains more or less the same. The important thing is coming together with your family at Christmas. Buon Natale! 🎄✨

Thanks Germana for your lovely video Although I'm Italian born and lived all my adolescence in L'AQUILA. Abruzzo therefore knowledgeable of all the Italian traditions that you described to perfection and now that I live in Canada and speak English for many years I command you for your fluency in English , but please allow me to correct you on one thing: you keep referring to us as " Guys..guys..guys.. Well let me tell you it's ok when you are talking to a group of friends to say :Guys But when you talk in your video to people you don't know who follow your channel from all over the world is more appropriate to say : " You all" or my dear readers..anything more general but not you guys is a bit too impersonal..almost disrespectful.. Sorry Germana myself and my colleagues at work were surprised when we heard "you guys" we hardly know you..ciao scusa ma ci Tengo alla perfezione Delle mie due lingue; L'ITALIANO e L'INGLESE

Ciao @romeoriossi7419!🤗 Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughtful and insightful feedback, it means a lot to me! You’re absolutely right about the use of "guys," and I’ve reflected on this.
