It means that levels don't mean as much as they wanted. They wanted people with "some" experience. But, they forgot that someone can have almost no experience in one area and yet be excellent in another. Also, they were messed up on their recipe levels. In my family, drop biscuits are the super easy, low mess, entry level. If you can make pancakes, you can make drop biscuits. Rolled biscuits are the next level up.

@@tashlan4164 Yeah, people get hung up on "correct" names for things. But UK and Americans have very different definitions of "lemonade" (generic term for a soft drink vs. one specifically and only flavoured with lemons). And that quirk occurs in Japan as the soda Ramune was created by a Scot living in Japan and "ramune" is just lemonade spoken by a Japanese speaker.

Just a note, buttermilk (at least in the US) is no longer the leftovers after making butter but rather a fermented cream. Buttercream today has a higher Total Acidity than 40 years ago but lasts a lot longer and thus more shelf stable. It also contains much more fat than years ago.

I love drop biscuits! I've been the designated biscuit maker in my family since I was 7, and I always prefer the texture of drop biscuits over more traditional shaped biscuits. The dough doesn't get tough like it does when you roll it out and shape it.
