This guy is as real and humble as they come. I admire your ability to hold back.... I got jumped years ago when I was 15 by a group , chipped all my teeth and nearly lost vision i my eye. I needed loads of laser treatment... you better fucking believe I got them.all back 1 at a time. If men are big and hard enough to attack 1 man in their group for no reason at all , then personally I don't give a fuck who they are with , they need to catch those hands.

My dad once got filled in by 4-5 men. I forget how many. Over the years he got them all one by one. Didn’t have a chat with the, just walked up them and starting battering them. He said they all cried little bitches begging him to stop. This is one of my favourite dad stories, he was known as a good street fighter when he was alive too. ❤

I’m not a boxer or street fighter but I just wanted to acknowledge my appreciation for what you’ve expressed in your anecdote Matt, and I’ll tell you for why - no matter how hard anyone is, or how much of a brawler they are, it’s so important to process and express what they’ve experienced, if anything to purge the trauma. Big respect for your humble attitude Matt. Bullies need to be confronted and learn a lesson on not to bully. When I was younger, two bullies, bullied me for a couple of years and it was awful to be so scared. But I became a break dancer and turned into a bag of pure muscle. Then onetime I snapped when they bullied me too much. When they attacked me, both (On different occasions) got flattened by me. I never told anyone that I beat them up, I did not want to embarrass them to everyone. It became a secret between us three and they would always put their head down in shame, when ever they saw me. I have always stood up to bullies since then, even bullying managers at work. Peace and love Matt.

Ended up with a fractured eye socket from a knee to the face and bollocks the size of cricket balls. Got two of them back when on their own, but ended up breaking two knuckles in the process. I was in The Royal Marines , down in plymouth a fellow Marine well known for being a gent but a handful if pushed was filled in by 5 guys when he was drunk as 10 men . He was in hostpital for around 10 days and on sick call around a month six weeks , anyway he came back to camp and although he was always fit he started to really turn on his training regime he was blasting the gym and the running morning and night to get himself back to peak fitness . Anyway Plymouth can be rough as any town but also word gets around and names came forward of these wannabe tough guys . My mate caught up with the first two outside a gym and they shit themselves but he was cool as you like and shattered one guys knee with a kick and the other guys knee with a sawed off pool cue (alledgedly ) he left them in a bloody heap asleep on the tarmac neither will ever walk without a limp now . He caught up with another in a pub and broke his jaw in 5 places . The other two disappeared off the face of the earth he never did catch them . Moral of the story is don't smash anyone up team handed you never know what the victim is capable of or who he is and unless you are fully prepared to reap the whirlwind never ever be a bully or send drunken Royal Marine commandos to the hostpital out of malice or trying to be the tough guys . Bar room stories from old timers warned us that often the quiet ones are the real dangerous ones . My friend truly was a cold hearted prick when it came to violence he was game but he never looked for it and was always a gent drunk or sober .

Dude, your not glamourising at all, but giving us all a glimps into what many if have had to experience via bullies. As a 56yr old mixed race guy (white/persian), I had my fair share of being bullied at school, then when I left school, something clicked in me and that was it. Most of the bullies I would have a “straightener” when I came across them in my late teens/20’s during the fantastic uk nightclubbing scene of the 80’s 90’s. I’m not even a violent person at heart but ended up in prison for ABH and charged with a few other violent offences. But in those days it really was 1 on 1 and there was a respect to be shared win, draw or lose. It was all about standing and being counted.

Yes l agree,if children are around it is best too walk away, and you responded well to the mothers pleas to stop. That is what distinguishes you from the sociopaths, you have a heart. May l say what a lovely setting you have chosen. A beautiful old Norman Church.your post with the church and graveyard feels very spiritual.

What a cracking little insight Matt. Our neighbourhoods are full of local hard lads, every estate has them. All puffed up most of the time with a plentiful supply of hangers on. Even up the odds a bit and find them on their own, 8 times out of 10 they fill their pants. Every estate needs a Matt….

Some people like to fight. Thankfully very few. In the 60's, my uncles best mate, Frankie, was known as a hard bloke. Not a bully. Sitting the pub one day, two fellas from Liverpool came over (we lived on the Wirral) and said 'who is Frankie? We've heard he's hard' Frankie stood up and said 'me' and they went outside. Ten seconds later Frankie walked back in, having knocked them spark out. He wasn't a big bloke, one of those wiry fellas. He was a nice fella, he just happened to be hard. Unfortunately cancer got him and his son a few years back.
