I am retired and when I was working I purchased good jewelry, gold, diamonds etc, But since I no longer work I gathered up what I no longer wear and sold it. $7000 paid off the bills and created an emergency fund! Winning! Great ideas Jenn thank you

I used to babysit for my landlord and she would buy my kids really nice garage sale clothes for the value I worked or she would buy things I needed in the home. It was our barter system. It helped me out so much.

A couple of ways that I save a little bit of money is I absolutely refuse to buy paper plates, I have a dishwasher so it’s just as easy to put them in there as it is to throw them away. I also use cloth napkins. I keep a small bucket with soap and water in it and throw the napkins in there to soak until I’m ready to wash them

I've been trying to figure out what to do with my reusable paper towels and rags until I do a load of wash, this helps. Thanks!

Showing gratitude to the things that you have. I feel that our house loves us back because we are always saying how much we love it and taking good care of it! Same for every possession. Sounds silly, but it helps us being content and knowing that we have enough. Funny how you mention walking through Target and getting out without buying anything. Same here. I'm not even moved by the offers and discounts, don't need it. Great video!

Cooking at home, taking my beverage in the car with me, having a snack in my purse- I don’t like spending money in stores on things I already have. A slow cooker is a great way to have food ready, eliminating the “need” to order out.

Hi Jen, I am very grateful that I have a place to live, gas and electric for lights, heat and a way to cook food, running water to shower etc. I’m blessed to have what is needed to survive. All these things can be lost at ANYTIME! 💰☀️

A couple of days before my income checks, I go through my categories and make adjustments. For example, instead of leaving unused grocery money in its envelope, I move most/all of it to a savings envelope.

If you absolutely have to go to get the nails done or hair done check out your local cosmatology class at your local trade school or technical colloge and get pampered for cheap. I went the other day to help a friend's sister get practice and had my hair shampooed, cut and styled for 15$ I cant go to just get a hair cut for that cheap at a regular salon.

One thing I have always done is pack my lunches for work and pack my drinks such as tea I make at home and water in my water bottle for the day! I have always cut my kids and husband’s hair to save money. I started cutting my own and like it better since I don’t use but one product in my hair and I do a simple fix and am done! Time saved and money! Thrifting and garage sales are great to find things you need at half the price or start a community and trade items!! I have thought about this for just my local area and it helps keep items out of the landfills as well! 💕👍🙏🇺🇸😊🐾

I have recently started looking at my obligations and trying to figure out how to pay things off and get money into my savings. If I can stick to my plan except for my mortgage I will be debt free by September 2028. That’s all the bills, loans, cars. Wish me luck at sticking to my plan.

You definitely get used to them and they are cheaper! That’s why I always had one when I was younger. 💛 I don’t think I would want one now, though. I don’t think my coordination is that good anymore! 😂

@ hahaha! Funny thing with me is my dad always tried to teach me growing up but I didn’t want to learn. Then I was looking for a car, and they got me approved. I saw the exact same car as a manual, BUT 2 years newer, mines a 2024 and 20000 less miles. For 6000 cheaper! I bought it without knowing how to drive it! Through a lot of cursing, I learned to drive my car!! Now between my husband and our house and my dad and his house, every car is a manual except my daughters because she refuses to learn! lol

I've committed to paying off my debts. I am homebound and on disability. I want to go back to work as my disability is mostly mental and can be overcome through work at home. To do this I need to invest in myself and get better quality clothing that flatters me and not make me look unclean. I already have a hard time justifying that commitment to myself. A small investment that would pay for itself in the long run. I know you mean well but I don't think you are taking into account those of us who through one justifiable reason or another need the haircuts, the better clothing, or even someone to come in and clean up after us. There are those of us out there who through physical or mental disabilities need to spend extra to live a well-maintained life. I absolutely believe it is not your intention to dismiss us, but I feel judged and put down whenever I listen to you. Maybe think about how you are presenting your information.

I too used to be in the same situation. I've always enjoyed mysteries and dares so I decided to challenge myself by implementing 1 thing at a time. 1 day ~ make my bed, next day ~ do laundry, next day ~ wash dishes. Now I've worked up to 2 or 3 challenges a day. I use the same "challenge" when shopping ~ I go to used clothing stores and challenge myself to find high quality items or ones that are unique or can be used in different ways. It seems those were the items I got the most compliments on. 😊 Give yourself time by forcing yourself to atleast take steps you can for that day.

But what can one do if the need for a bigger house due to a growing family seems unavoidable and thinking about it constantly and not eing able to do much about it😕
@2SisterBees
@2SisterBees 14 сағат бұрын
This is a very good question. When I was younger- I had my older daughter and was pregnant with my youngest. We also needed a larger home as we were in a 2/1. We ended up asking our best friend if he would be interested in renting a larger home with us - and he did! We paid utilities and of course, he ate dinner with us every night- but he paid half of the rent and it worked out for us for over 2 years. On the other hand, I grew up with 2 siblings and my parents so there was 5 of us. We always lived in homes that were right around 1000 sq ft and always one bathroom shared between all of us. We were all happy and didn’t think anything of it. It’s what our family could afford and we were okay with that. I think that where there is a will- there is always a way. If having a larger home is a priority for you and your family- sit down and make your plan. Do your best each day and things will start to take shape for you. 💛

Is there anyway to rework your space? We have a 950 sq ft house with a low mortgage rate and good schools. So instead added a wall to the junk catch-all sunroom for a needed bedroom. I think our small house makes us a closer family. Some alterations may be cheaper than relocating.
